After almost a week of feeling a bit consumed and mopey I've finished a good draft letter for MrGG. I feel loads lighter. I've done my best, even if that was totally hopless at times.
I'll be back to work tomorrow with zing. I'm off to find some books to read for christmas. Got yoga. Will finally finish the dishes. And will cook dahl to share tmrw at work. And go to bed early! I was late to bed, slept bad, and up at 6:20 for a gym class.
I wrecked myself last night. Calling the out-of-hours surgery about smoke inhalation. (I had accidentally left something in the microwave too long, and it burned) Then, today, I didn't get up until 3:30 pm and was sick as a dog.
I went out for a drive, then was sick again driving home; with my phone in the front coat pocket. Now it's damaged, and repairs might be through-the-roof. I removed the recursion of my Giffgaff Goodybag. Now I'm using my backup phone - a Vodafone - for the time being.
I'm trying to focus on the solution. I also had to change my 2fA mobile number for PayPal.
I washed my clothes. However, my coat requires dry-cleaning. There's still vomit over it. And I have to get my car cleaned. I'll bleach it tomorrow.
I went on a foraging trek Fifteen months ago. But, as ever, I didn't follow through on the interest.
Have more work to do on my interview ttechnique than first thought;
1. I don't tell enough of a story about my skilllset and situations where I worked in aa team.
2. I yawn continuously.
3. I fidgit, and have itches all over my body.
4. Eye contact is an issue.
Basiccally, Auttsitic Traits.
I was microwaving batch-cooked carbonara. But I left it on too long, it was already defrosted, and burned it. Thank God I inhaled the smoke coming out to let mme know. I couldn't smell for toffee.
Sounds a lovely book, I may look out for it, though I'm uk based.
Testing out the RTX 3070 today on some games and applications my old 980 ti would struggle with at 3440x1440. So much performance in a small package, and a huuuuge upgrade. Absolutely worth it if you can lay your hands on one.
the book was 'stalking the wild asparagus' by euell gibbons... he grew up in the depression, had to learn to forage in new mexico for his family. he grew to love foraging, and wrote a series of books on foraging near the sea shore, medicinal herbs, etc. his best book is probably the asparagus one, altho all are well written. he's a new englander... uh, not an old englander...lol
should be careful about shrooms --- all of one type being edible is more than iffy, altho i am not up on my puffs.... but for example, Amanita has the most toxic shrooms known, like, fifty percent chance you're dead, but also a handful of delectables. then a couple hallucinogenics...
happy december....
What's the book?
I forage lots of stuff, mostly on an estuary. This time of year though it's mostly sea beet, radish leaf, and scurvy grass.
puffballs , easy to identify and all puffballs are eatable
my favorite foraging book is an old one, but that i sort of grew up with (not that i'm a huge forager) stalking the wild asparagus, by euell gibbons. but that is east coast us based...........
what do you forage?
my fingers feel like ice cubes.... in my house... california dreamin'.............it is cold this morning (for a native californian). may go surf fishing later. found a good weather app, that said winds would die down around 1pm. removed the big floor mat from my van, as the smell could accumulate. reconnected w a friend i haven't seen in a few years. i think he has aspergers. listening to classical music, instead of he news, which is depressing. i ignore it.
happy december!
