I ran for 1'15"; took 3 friends foraging; cooked a nice meal; tidied a tiny bit; and bought two things i've been avoiding getting around to. A good day!
I'm trying to be disciplined at keeping a routine going through lockdown esp physical exercise, it's going well. I'm also trying to clear one 'smelly file' (chores i've been avoiding forever that just keep getting smellier) a day. Tick.
I've not done the dishes, again. My exec control has some clear biases!
my favorite foraging book is an old one, but that i sort of grew up with (not that i'm a huge forager) stalking the wild asparagus, by euell gibbons. but that is east coast us based...........

all puff ball mushrooms are easy to recognise and are eatable, in case u ever get stuck. U have to get them before they "Puff"
all puff ball mushrooms are edible
I went on a foraging trek Fifteen months ago. But, as ever, I didn't follow through on the interest.
Sounds a lovely book, I may look out for it, though I'm uk based.
the book was 'stalking the wild asparagus' by euell gibbons... he grew up in the depression, had to learn to forage in new mexico for his family. he grew to love foraging, and wrote a series of books on foraging near the sea shore, medicinal herbs, etc. his best book is probably the asparagus one, altho all are well written. he's a new englander... uh, not an old englander...lol
should be careful about shrooms --- all of one type being edible is more than iffy, altho i am not up on my puffs.... but for example, Amanita has the most toxic shrooms known, like, fifty percent chance you're dead, but also a handful of delectables. then a couple hallucinogenics...
happy december....
What's the book?
puffballs , easy to identify and all puffballs are eatable
