FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Since being diagnosed with Aspergers, my soak up brain has been studying the condition in hope to make myself a bit better. It seems Autism is an economical industry sector in America.. lots of studies, theories, etc.  If I was confused before, now I AM. Wink

Anyway, I would like to share my pseudoscience with you Foot in Mouth

I am using food as autism medicine, lol...., my alchem is Badiot Mineral WATER, Garlic, and Chicken.

1.) The Badiot mineral water is high in magnesium and other minerals and I think the body is 70% water, so a change of water, so a change in brain electrolyte function. Also correlated the use of chlorine put in mainstream water(1944), two years before the first case in America of Autism(1946).

2.) Using garlic to regulate heartbeat/pressure(betablocker control) and also to use as an Oxytocin carrier which is in the chicken to carrier across the blood brain barrier. Oxytocin is a trust hormone which is said to be lacking in the bodies/brains of people with Autism, so a big study on in America just now. I can believe this is true.

As a sideline, I have stopped drinking tea, coffee and using milk, I take sardines with the bones in them for calcium, as milk has been linked to cancer and premature aging due too much osterogen hormones x300 over the normal human body amount. They found out that in Mongolia that there was no cancer, and linked in that society Cows milk was not allowed to be drunk by tradition when the cow had a calf and was lactating.

Does anyone else also experiment in there spare time,, lol Smile

Thank you - that's really interesting. I wonder why the significantly lower figures for *** cancer are not reflected in overall cancer rates? And I notice that the researchers suggest that the high dairy content of the Monglian diet may have something to do with the results in this research.

That would suggest that the incidence rates for other cancers are much higher, and just goes to prove that the interactions between diet and health are much too complex to be boiled down to terms as simplistic as "eat less (or more) dairy and you're less (or more) likely to get cancer".

  • is that a fact Smile if you study fact long enough you will nothing is real

All science is pseudoscience until enough people believe it is real science.

Actually, science is evidence based, not belief based.

More people in the world believe in a God, or Gods, than don't, that doesn't make God, or Gods, scientific.

  • Alex-R, quote "I'm sorry to say that 'pseudoscience' is all that this is."

These were just my personal food for thought nothing serious,, it is called chatting.,, maybe I need more Alex_R go away Garlic on my post.

Anyway do what you do, I 'll do what I'll do. All science is pseudoscience until enough people believe it is real science. Then it is closed minds, waiting for high social batteries to tell you what to think and do, that is called consensus control which is Alex's world.

  • I think if there was a significant link between milk and cancer it would be clear by now,

a lot of reseach has been done into cancer and diet.

  • The idea that milk is bad for people without a recognized intolerance is nonsense. Most Western people can drink milk without problems because we have evolved, since neolithic times, to be able to consume it. A sizable minority of Western people develop lactose intolerances, which often have a genetic basis, and mean that the person has difficulty digesting milk protein to a greater or lesser degree. Nearly all Chinese people, however, are lactose intolerant because their culture has traditionally avoided milk products, meaning that they could not develop tolerance to milk.

Milk, in moderation of course, is a perfectly healthy source of protein, calcium, and vitamin D, particularly full fat milk. I say moderation because many people drink too much milk as part of the general over consumption of animal products in the Western world. Milk as part of a healthy balanced diet will not hurt most people. In fact, most food has been linked to cancer in some study or another. If we believed all the studies we would die of malnutrition!.

  • And maybe Garlic really does keep away vampires.

If vampires are fears and nightmares produced by depression and anxiety,

and garlic helps increase blood flow and oxytocin levels,

More garlic = less worries about vampires.

    Maybe.

  • Sounds like a weightlifters diet to me,

chicken and  sardines are low in saturated fat and high in protein so they are usually recommended for sports.

Dunno about the milk thing, but I have heard pesticides and carcinogens are concentrated in milk so to me its plausible. But I drink a lot of milk as I think its a good source of vitamins and protein.

Oxytocin is interesting, as I understand it its produced as a response to stroking and physical contact so maybe getting a cat would help more.

If it is true that Autistic people have less I would guess its due to their lifestyle and lack of physical contact rather than a structural defecit in the brain.

  • Hi Hohner,

I'm sorry to say that 'pseudoscience' is all that this is. There has been lots of research into the effects of chrlorine and fluorine in tap water, and it's pretty clear that it does not cause or influence autism. Oxytocin research is only just getting under way, And I can find no reliable scientific sources discussing a connection between garlic and oxytocin at all. WHO figures for mortality rates around the world show that Mongolia has an above-average (possibly signficantly above-average) death rate from cancer.

And I'm not sure how you'd get milk produced by a cow that wasn't lactating!

Seriously everyone, please take exception care when making dietary choices. There are no credible scientific studies advocting dietary changes as any kind of treatment for autism. Autism is a neurological condition which appears to have a predominantly genetic cause.

    Regards,

    Alex R
