I’m just finishing my 3rd coffee of the day (I really need to cut down again!) and just wondered what hot drink other people prefer? Are you a coffee drinker or do you prefer tea or perhaps you like herbal tea (good flavour recommendations welcome!) or something else? How do you take your tea/coffee/other. I drink strong black coffee with no milk or sugar but with half cold water due to sensitive gums; I don’t drink tea but do drink herbal teas depending on the flavour, lemon, ginger and manuka honey is a current favourite but peppermint and liquorice is a recent fail on the herbal tea front!
Good you're resurrecting this because I was not a member back then
I love English tea with milk and I'm crazy about latte. I also like chai teas and chai latte providung there is not too much cinnamon. There should be a bit of black pepper in fact.
If I drank all the latte I wanted, I would be not only be broke, but the size of a house. And never sleep.
I have been given a tea advent calendar even though I'm the biggest bah humbug in the world. Looking forward to trying all the flavours.
Tea has to be in a good mug. The wrong mug spoils it completely that's why I'm so annoying to live with...
I can really recommend Ethiopian coffee. It tastes so different to South American coffees. There is a roasterie down the road from me and they roast and grind the beans and sell bags of whole beans, ground or serve cups of coffee. I get high just going past.
ooh sorry, adding to a long thread. I was just searching for thread about coffee....and found one Me mad about coffee. Latte. Homemade, Used to buy from starbucks for years then made my own.Just recently got away from starbucks and now buy beans from a roastery. I'm on the search for 'chocolately' coffee. Have nearly got there with a more medium roast. Kitsune- read about the ginger coffee....I will definitely be trying that.
I used to drink tea a lot too but stopped since giving up sugar. Now it's a couple of coffee's a day and the rest is water
What drinks do you like?
I haven’t tried it. I’ll ask my friend about it though as she grew up in Canada. Could you make a diy version at home to save having to get it shipped?
These drinks all seem very tasty apart from liquorice which I’m not a huge fan of. Cardamom is good, I like aniseed too but I seem to have developed a mild allergy to it which is annoying! I like how you’re using the spices and herbs medicinally in your tea
Coffee all the way here though weirdly I’ve never tried coffee syrups! Which flavour do you prefer? Probably best to stick to decaf if your heartbeat is a bit out of sync. Coffee has a diuretic effect to, annoyingly! I try to drink a glass of water before each cup of coffee otherwise I get dehydration headaches!
Btw this is what I was like on Saturday afternoon after 3 mugs of coffee from my new coffee machine! To. Much. Caffeine!!! Have had to limit those to one a day!
Neither.
She does now :-)
Has anyone tried maple tea? I don't like tea but I could drink maple tea all day. Shame its so expensive to get it shipped from Canada
I used to drink latte made with Ethiopian beans lightly roasted and demerara sugar in the morning then broken orange pekoe in the afternoon. Now I've had to give up coffee because of reflux and generally fragile gut so I make South Indian chai in the morning then mostly drink pekoe or Earl Grey for the rest of the day or pop some cardamom, licorice and aniseed into the pot with clipper teabags for my stomach. In the summer I sometimes drink yunnan with lemon. Occasionally I have hibiscus tea with a little licorice or mint with fennel, licorice and black pepper. I've started using xylitol instead of sugar, seems to help the digestion and reduce jitters.
You should! It can be expensive but it's on offer quite regularly. But it's as close to tasting like real coffee that instant can get
Bizarrely, despite being a Nescafe drinker for years, I have never tried Nescafe azera! I must try it!
The smell of red bull brings back terrible memories of student bars with sticky floors for me ... But Relentless energy drinks are where it's at : )
If it has to be instant, Nescafé azera is the only way to go : )
Coffee. I have a big bowl of Joe in the morning, with milk. I have an array of flavoured coffees, including hazelnut and amoretto. I have these with decaff, as a doctor recently suggested I should, he told me my blood pressure was good but my heartbeat was a little dadt. I have to be really thirsty for tea, tea makes you pee after all. I don't like the fact it's such a massive diutetic. I like chai latte though.
In winter I also love hot white chocolate.
I haven't had any Worcestershire sauce in ages, might have to get some!
Thanks I'll check out Amazon!
'Mrs Christmas Cards', love it! Does your wife realise that she now has a 'forum name'?
It was definitely online, not sure where. I'm glad you asked because literally half an hour ago I was worrying that the link I posted might not have been the cheapest as I only googled to find the product! Didn't want to have sent you to somewhere unnecessarily expensive!
Mrs Christmas Cards can't remember either but we think maybe Amazon?
A mug of espresso sounds great! Who invented the rule that they had to be tiny? :-)
