A Temporary Thread - Started July 10 2018, ends July 12 2018... (Edit) ;-|

This Thread is to reiterate something Posted by NAS which might not be noticed by all. (This has happened before, and so I do it again, nerr. And I can only do this because it is not at this moment so fer-lipping HOT!)

NAS Said:

The Community is our discussion forum for autistic people, their families and other wider network. It allows you to meet online and share your thoughts and experiences. It’s free to join and a great way to share support.

Sign-ins will be unavailable for 1-2 hours on the morning of Thursday 12 July, owing to planned maintenance. We apologise for any inconvenience.

...Thank You for telling us, NAS, I really mean that. (And you spelt "apologise" correctly insted of "apologies" this time!)

  • Thanks for the replies DC16 and Cassandro. I guess I am the only one to whom this has happened. I cannot "Test" for I am not the only person using the BroadbandRouter I use, and as I keep saying, my devices are old. (FYI - I never ever click upon "Remember Me", and so sign off manually for the sake of... um, reassurance...!)

Do not worry about it, I guess, I guess I shall let this Thread "GO", now...then... Take Care of Yourselves, of course.

  • There was just a holding page on the main NAS site on Thursday morning, an 'Error authenticating your request' on the forums, and I think both came back some time that afternoon.

I don't tend to see the automatic sign-off. It's possible that something has changed with the 'single sign-on' that I think WebPM mentioned was involved in the maintenance. If it's not that, maybe the fact the server wasn't running meant it didn't delete the sessions on its end; or I wonder if you might have clicked 'remember me' when logging in? I think 'Remember me' means a cookie is set that persists between browser sessions if your browser and its plugins permit that, but it will also stop you being logged out.

@WebPM said the 503 problem still wasn't completely fixed, but that they're still working on it. I haven't seen it recently either.

  • I am always signed in until I close my browser, or it crashes, or the computer crashes. I think that even if the site is down, I'm not signed out the next time it's working. I prefer it that way since I am the only one who uses this computer.

I haven't seen error 503 recently. The site was down for me a few times a week or two ago but not this week.

  • ...This Thread again. The day is over, yet I waited another day to Post something about that day.

I was Signed In, at the literal time of the morning of 12 July. At around 00.20 hours (20 past Twelve)... Error 503 appeared.

I did not check this site again until after 20hours (8PM) the next day... but the reason I write this is that I was apparently still signed in -all day?

Usually there is an automatic sign off after a time (of inactivity)... I was wondering if anyone else noticed? And what happened - Is it still working?

  • It wasn't, but it is now.

  • So is the maintenance finished? I just noticed this.

  • I know, I can do nothing (currently) about myself Posting LATE in the day... This Thread should be over by the 'Morrow. I may edit parts of it now and then. I do not post every little message which NAS Posts, and I only re-posted this one and highlight it again, because it may be hidden to some (see the OP).

...In hindsight, if this happens again, I may just Post what NAS says as the title - that way no-one can miss it...!

But when it is over (tomorrow),... well anyone who wants to next post non-malicious "irrelavence" or "silliness" is welcome to do so!  (--- You regulars know who you are...)   ;-)

  • Thanks.  Miss Daisy revels in her good fortune!

  • YAY! A Thanks! That was quick... *ahem*... I posted that from experience, here. Also, some people have an "Automatic Sign On", and the two pages have differing messages. (One if not signed in and one if signed in.)

Thanks again...!! (Good Fortune to Miss Daisy from myself also, of course!)

  • You're allowed to be the centre of attraction for once for drawing that to our attention, DC.  Thanks. Slight smile
