Mindful Meditation for Kids with ADHD

Hi

Am new to the forum and based in Buckinghamshire.  We have a 12 year old boy with ADHD and Aspergers.  He does take drugs for the ADHD whilst he is at school but not at home.  We are interested in looking into Mindful Meditation for him.  Anyone have any thoughts on this or recommendations?

thanks

  • Tai Chi could be a suggestion. You have a structured routine which is good for AS. You also learn mindful meditation and breath control. There isn't much physical contact either. Some forms of mindful meditation can lead the mind to some strange places. Tai Chi isn't that kind and is pretty much easy to access. He is a good age to start it at too. He will get exercise that builds strength and flexibility, also a channel for meditation.
