This research study is being carried out by Vanessa Haugaard, a Trainee Clinical Psychologist at the University of Edinburgh.
Project summary
Currently, eating disorder treatments are designed for neurotypical people. We want to understand what it’s like to experience Family Based Treatment for Anorexia Nervosa (FBT) as an autistic young person. We want to find out what was helpful about it and what you think could be improved.
Who can take part?
We are looking to interview people who:
- Are aged between 14-21
- Are autistic (either with a formal diagnosis or self-diagnosed)
- Have had Family Based Treatment for Anorexia Nervosa (FBT)
What do I need to do?
- Eligible participants will be invited to an online interview to talk about their experience of FBT (30mins-1hr). This can be using video or written chat.
- Participants who take part in an interview will receive a £20 love to shop / amazon voucher
