Ashwaganda - has anyone tried it?

I’ve been considering trying Ashwaganda (might be spelling that incorrectly maybe) to help with anxiety etc.

Has anyone tried it? And if so was it helpful? Any good or bad results?
I’d really appreciate it if anyone can share their experience of trying it.

Thanks :)

  • Thanks Ninjaaa - that’s really helpful to know. Really glad that you found it beneficial Blush

  • Hi guys,

    quick reminder of rule 13

    1. Users should not provide medical or legal advice to other users. Giving medical or legal advice can have serious consequences, even if you’re trying to help another member. Please suggest they get advice from a professional.

Also, if you're on any other medication, please consult a medical professional before starting any herbal remedies, as they can interact badly, and sometimes lead to accidental overdoses.

  • Hi Kate, Ashwagandha is an excellent choice and definitely worth considering. It's an all natural product and though some people do experience side effects, I believe not many do.

Ashwagandha has been proven to lessen anxiety for some as well as improve sheep, mental health and can even help inflammation. I had previously tried many meds from my GP but none helped whereas Ashwagandha proved to make a difference a few days after trying it.

I would do your research first, if I was you, just to be absolutely sure it's what you want, but I think it's worth a try as you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

  • No - it’s a herbal remedy HerbBlush

  • Hi GlittersWave

Would you recommend any particular brand?

I’m currently in burnout and think this may be helpfulSlight smile

  • Oh thanks Martin, it looks really similar to a type of yoga

  • Hi, yes I take it.

I've been taking it for a few months, started when school exams were going on and it was getting too much for me.

My doctor previously prescribed anti anxiety but the side effects were horrible and I felt worse. I was suggested Ashwaganda by my sister who takes it and she assured me it works and with no side effects.

    She was right!

I've had no complaints since starting taking Ashwaganda, no side effects and I feel calmer, and my hands don't tremble anymore and that was a big problem for me originally.

It might not work for you, everyone is different, but it's got to be worth a try just to see.

I hope it works for you if you give it a try Slight smile

  • It is a plant extract.

  • Is that yoga? I’m not sure what type my instructor teaches but it makes me feel so well aligned afterwards. I just have to remember not to hyperextend my knees too far. At the end you lay on the floor, I can’t empty my mind like others do but I do try and at least relax my body and slow my brain down a bit
