people have seemed to think I'm "intelligent"

i really don't see it, regardless of being put down constantly throughout my life, by those i share genetics and nothing else with too.

i see other peoples posts, messages, anything, and so many times people just seem to think better than i do, and i just feel kind of incapable of doing anything else than surviving day by day.

then theres people who seem to think my "heads screwed on" it really isnt, though its usually been people with addiction problems that have said that, so never worth believing anyway.

ah i don't know, currently ill with potential covid, so been stuck in this hostel type place all week, can come out of isolation and back to work friday if i feel ok to.

went out earlier because im going nuts here, and did me some good mentally, did what i could to keep away from people, wore mask etc, but people didnt keep distance from me, so, i dunno, did my best not to spread anything, not that any other person bothers to.

  • That is definitely true! I did okay academically at school, nearly all A's and A*'s at GCSE (I got a C in Art) and then proceeded to fail spectacularly at every aspect of life from that day onwards, being apparently unable to function in society at all! Having said that though, I don't think that my good grades were a measure of intelligence, more a result of a lot of effort, no social life to distract me, and a pretty useless ability to remember what we were supposed to write in exams!

  • morality is the most important thing and something that many 'successful' people seem to lack!

  • thank you, i do try to, just, i dunno, more i think more confused i get i think

  • Of course it's now well established that intelligence isn't a good measure of ability to function in society for autistic people.

  • I did relatively well at School, but didn't get anything out of it. To be honest, School is for too much of us a Warzone. I was caught in the crossfire.

I'm fortunate to have come from a family of Farmers. That's keeping me afloat. However, Hyperinflation is eating into my livelihood.

  • I did get comments, all sorts, from intelligent to dumb, idiot, crazy and weirdo, I didn't get nerd ever, so it hardly has any meaning, or merit,

what matters to me is what I think about it, and since I found out I'm autistic, and many of accusations in my life were probably gaslifgtning, and that there is nothing wrong with my morality and the way I think my self confidence got better a lot

  • You shouldn’t really compare yourself to other people, although we all do it from time to time. Your existence, coping abilities or intelligent will be better than some others, that’s just how it is. It’s just you hold a low opinion of yourself and what you have actually achieved just being here today. Look for the positives once in a while. They are there.

  • i dont look like a "nerd" at all to be honest.

  • they base it on your appearance. if you look like a nerd they will assume you are a nerd.

for example in work when i first started a guy i was talking to on the trailer assumed id be the type to have got all good grades and worked hard in school, probably based on being relatively thin looking and having glasses and being quiet and when i speak its to the point and logical and based on what is needed to be done.

but i did bad in school, got bad grades, skipped most of it, hated the place. got lower grades than this girl who could hardly string a sentence together, tbh i found it pretty insulting the quality of people they gave higher grades than me as if they are smarter when alot of them were pretty thick and illiterate. my religious education grade i accepted whole heartedly though, a grade below anything i thought existed, a grade G lol the lower the grade in fantasy nonsense like that i consider it to be higher anyway personally. id be more worried if i got a grade A in religion instead as id definately have been suspecting i was schizophrenic if i got high grades in talking to people who are not there and dont exist lol

anyways people see you look smart or nerdy so they make assumption that you are.... also if you look weird they also assume your smart and creative, i dressed in big gothic trenchcoat at a back to work event jobcenter sent me on once and the guy running it immediately assumed i was smart and creative just because of my trench coat alone.
