Hello everyone, I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2017. I have a very limited set of interests and I don't particularly being around others as I feel like I am the centre of attention, which I hate. Hope to talk to some of you on here soon who are experiencing similar things!
Yes, I think the sheer speed of the Concorde was what fascinated me. Sorry, I do not have the same passion for boats as I have for planes.
I see from the comments you are quite interested in the Concorde. It reminded me of how I used to be obsessed with it when I was a kid, although I don't remember much now beyond having a book on Concorde and getting excited to go inside one on a school trip to a local airfield.
I have to say though I think I was more interested in boats than planes. I had a big poster of the way the Titanic sunk. I would watch documentaries on how it sank, and I would watch the film but skip the first part just to watch it sink! I had a massive book with tons of pictures of the wreck when it was first discovered and I had a habit of breaking toy boats to make them sink, such as a Peppa pig boat I broke and made sink in the bath! I also made a bunch of Lego boats and would make them sink in the bath, and I remember when I first found YouTube I would watch videos of paper boats flooding and sinking.
As mentioned earlier by me in this discussion, I like flying aeroplanes on a free online flight simulator. Do you like aeroplanes or flying in them?
It was sad when the Concorde was discontinued in October 2003. No need to thank me. Glad you learnt something.
Hello, nice to meet you. What are your interests?
The Concorde is a pretty cool iconic plane to fly. Thanks for the facts about the aircrafts, I have learnt something new.
Concorde. I can travel at speeds of around 4,000 knots (roughly 4,600 mph). I don't think the simulator has an upper limit in terms of speed for the Concorde on particular (I don't know why all other aircraft have top speeds). Obviously, in real life, Concorde had a max. speed of just under 1,200 knots (around 1,350 mph). I can also travel just under 9 times faster than a typical commercial aeroplane, whose average speed is only around 450 knots (around 520 mph). Although the world's fastest aircraft, the Boeing 747-8i, has a top speed of just over 570 knots (almost 660 mph).
Cool. What is your favourite plane to fly?
Yeah. Although I can just use the simulator on my laptop, so it's pretty convenient.
An interesting in aeroplanes on a flight simulator is not odd at all, it’s really cool! Do you like to use the simulators at an arcade?
I know this may seem odd. However, I like flying aeroplanes on a free online flight simulator.
Hello! Nice to talk to you.
Hello. Thanks for taking the time out to reply to my message. How are you?
Hello, welcome to your autistic community. I hope you will feel comfortable chatting on this forum with other autistic people.
I hate being the centre of attention too, I am very much an observer. I think this is a common experience for many of us autistic people.
This forum is a great place to share experiences with your neurokin. I hope you enjoy your time in this autistic community as much as I do!
What are your dedicated interests?
Howdo!
hiya and welcome
Hi. Nice to talk to you. Hope you are doing OK.
Hello human being!
Hi there! Welcome to the communtiy, I'm sure you'll find some like minded people here to chat and connect with . Two tips I would suggest to help people get to know you are:
1. Add a profile a name - for online safty we recomend something that is NOT identifiable as you
2. Share your 'set of interests' so you can start some fun chats with others who have similar ones
Enjoy your time here and if you have any questions feel free to just post them inthe community!
Best wishes,
SarahMod
