Hi - Looking forward to meeting other like-minded people here. I love being active, travel, especially exploring nature here in the UK. Love adventures in nature, and helping and supporting others wherever and whenever I can. I’m not originally from the UK, but love living here and visiting places like Wales, Yorkshire, Cornwall etc. Love swimming and exercise in general. Am planning to do alot of cycling in the warmer months here, something I haven’t done in some time. Good to be here and hope you’re all doing alright.
I stayed in the Yorkshire Dales(Halton Gill, Litton) and it was soo beautiful up there! I swam every day, awoke to sheep bleating(which strangely sounded alot like my cat hehe!) and went on long hikes. Managed to visit York and it was a pretty amazing trip! Is that anywhere near you? Love the stone fences up that way and took loads of photos. Love the Dales and being surrounded by nature up there!
Where in Yorkshire exactly? Just curious...
The secret of Durdle Door is now obviously over, and it is probably in danger of being loved to death. I suppose many people have elected to go there this last weekend because it is so cut off .... from authority. Hence the necessity to use an air ambulance to pick up the casualties. Glad I wasn't there. Glad also that I do have some idea how to deal with isolation and cabin fever.
Hello! I love Yorkshire! Had the best time there last year! Hope you’re doing well! :)
Thanks so much :). I do love it here!
Hi from South Yorkshire!
Hi from Brighton & Hove (South of England), great to know that you're enjoying being in the UK and doing your activities.
Sounds good :) I want to see more of the workd but it’s unlikely to happen.
Long enough that I should have seen lots more than I have, but being workaholic, and also working in the US, has meant I’ve probably seen far more of the US than England itself. I’m planning on working on that now though!
Yeah there’s loads to see. How long have you been in the UK?
I saw some images of Durdle Door yesterday(had never seen it before. So many great places to explore, and so much history here! Love it!
Thanks CaliforniaDreamer! When things have settled down, it'll be so nice to do a roadtrip and explore all these places! Cannot wait!
Thanks!
I’ve not seen much of Cumbria but I second the views on Devon and the Highlands - both beautiful.
Hello and welcome to the forum! I have been diagnosed with Level 2 ASD. Feel free to ask any questions and read my profile.
I am sure that you will find plenty of other people that have similar interests to your own.
Cumbria, Devon and the Highlands of Scotland are nice to visit (When you can).
Welcome :)
Welcome!x
I just think Harry Ramsdens is overpriced and of mediocre quality - I think their location in Bournemouth allows them to rip off tourists. I went on holiday to Camber Sands once as a kid. I think going to places like that in this current phase of lockdown is okay so long as you are able to comply with the social distancing rules. I am fortunate that I live in a really nice little town, so there is plenty of nature and countryside all around me. I love taking walks near me fortunately. This said I’m looking forward to getting out and about a bit more.
I couldn’t agree more ... sometimes I wish I’d been born in the 40s or 50s! Sounds like you’re not a fan of Harry Ramsdens :)! No, I didn’t go to Harry’s, but I did find a small family run fish and chip shop. This was a few years ago now. I so wanted to drive to Camber Sands today, now that the lockdown’s been eased here, just to sit in the car and have a little picnic while looking out at the seaview. I stopped myself though, as I heard on the news, that they don’t want people visiting touristy spots. It will be so nice when it’s okay to explore again and feel the sand between my toes :). Hope you’re doing ok, Anthony. Having a dog is keeping me sane, being able to take him for walks nearby.
