Approximately.... What Percentage Of Adults approx 25+ Who Think They Have ASD Get a Diagnosis That Says Otherwise? I mean as in when they go for a test 1st time in life.
If we dont have any actual stats can some people make a % guess?

Where others truggle and need more support, so a diagnosis would be handy. Its optional, depending on what YOU need. Most people with forms of autism have a general feeling they are a little different to others, but if you feel like socialising is the only the thing that is creating difficulty it might be worth starting there with some social skill sessions or cbt therapy aimed at that. Might be worth mentioning this to your doctor.
Socializing probably is my only current problem so do i still warrant a diagnosis?
Ive seen many people for help with socializing assuming i had social anxiety. The end result was nothing ever really worked. I wasn't prepared to attempt expanding my social ciclre though since it just felt pointless because i just get met with stress overload.
Im not sure i would want a diagnosis to socialize anymore either, its just so in the situations im forced to socialize i have an excuse if i act wierd? - so do i warrant a diagnosis based on that?

There are also some good online tests which while not definitive are a strong indicator. If someone was scoring as non-ASD on those but still forced an assessment then they would probably come back as neurotypical but most people who go through the effort have lots of strong indicators.
Wow so really that low? i thought it would be like 30%-50% or something. I thought i would go for a test and my chances of getting a different result would be high.
I can be so "normal" yet i score well within the indicators of ASD and socializing does seem like a foreign language to me in many contexts. I'm very good at getting by though, i can get some amazing social results over a short period, i never ever can keep up these social results over a long period.
Still worried im far too "normal" to be going for a test.
