and i find with this and autism i have to use kids shampoo, kids body wash and toothpaste

is this wrong as i feel so embrassed about have to use and buy these

is  there others that have to do this and  can put my mind at ease please

  • I have very dry sensitive skin and have to be very careful about the products I use. There's nothing wrong with using childrens products, as long as you don't use baby shampoo as it's the same ph as the eyes rather than the scalp and will make it dryer and itchy. Products by Simple are good for those of us with dry skin, I also use some products from the Doctor Organic range as things like body lotions absorb easily. I also use Body Shop Hemp Body Butter and handcream as they really do help my skin, the handcream is excelent, I can come in from a day in the garden with hand like sandpaper and some of that and they're like new again.

As well as staying hydrated, making sure you have the right balance of oils in your diet can help too, it's all the usual things help, oily fish, wholemeal bread for the wheatgerm oil, avocados, olive oil or if you prefer a balanced supplement like Udo's oil.

  • I wouldn't worry. Just use what works for you.

There is another thread about toothpaste, so you are not alone in finding it hard to find one you get on with.

Soaps are another thing. I use Coop own brand vegetable soap as it has nothing in it like colour or scent.

Clothes washing can also be an issue. I use Fairy non-bio, have done for decades, along with their fabric softener.

You might want to consider if you are hydrated and drinking enough as that contributes to dry skin. Diet may also contribute.
