  • I always use Johnson’s baby shampoo for my hair. I don’t understand why anyone would deliberately by a shampoo that stings when they get it in their eyes. I also think that companies are less likely to put dubious chemicals in products for children - so they’re all probably better in that way. Anyway - I think we should use whatever we prefer - it’s nobody else’s business and you definitely don’t need to feel embarrassed!

  • Baby shampoo is the same ph as the eyes which is why is dosn't sting, unfortunately it is not the same as the ph of the hair and skin because of this it can make dry skin worse, more flakey, more likely to become irritated and also disrupts the skins acid mantle.

The acid mantle is the skins way of being a slightly hostile environment for germs and other irritants, with baby shampoo the acid matle of the scalp will be stripped away , making a flakey scalp more likely, it will also make the hair dryer, more fly away and more prone to things like split ends, because the balance will have been disturbed it will be more likely to suffer damage from, hairdryers, tongs etc.

There are lots of shampoo's that are fairly chemical free and ph balanced such as simple, or go for something like one of the Faith in Nature ones, solid shampoo bars can be quite good too, I get mine from lush.
