Thanks for your help.
I also, well for me, i sometimes struggle with drinking, because it make me anxious then, that I will then need a wee a lot...I always find something to be anxious about!
Happy New Year by the way! Xx
I used to drink orange squash but haven't for a while now. Mostly I drink milkshakes and grape juice but not a lot anymore. My favourite is grape juice but I'm going off it now but have nothing to replace it with. I'm going to look for my own bottle and see if that helps with this. I have done reminders but when they remind me I don't drink because I don't feel thirsty so sadly that didn't work.
Thanks for your support with this :)
It's the exact same for me here. Never feel hungry or thirsty. I'm going to speak to my doctor about it on Monday, she may be able to help me work on this.
I'm really sorry you were in a similar situation. I hated being in hospital. Everything triggered me, it was so loud, the smell of the hospital itself, never want to go back.
I'll try telling myself about going back and hopefully this will help. Hope your well now:)
What is your favourite drink? I have Orange squash.
Make sure your favourite is always available whatever it may be? Grape juice or lemonade maybe. but not tea or coffee, or coke / soft drinks, or alcohol
Find one which you like the taste of, maybe keep your own drink bottle with you? A squeeze one you can sip from? Set a watch reminder to drink?
It’s important to drink more in later life, kidney stones are horrible.
good luck :)
i know a lot of autistic people have problems with recognising when we need to eat/drink. i know i’ve always never felt hunger much or thirst
Hello, when I’m feeling anxious and tired/down, it makes me not feel like eating or drinking, I have autism and I manage an eating disorders, I’ve been doing Ok recently, but I have been in your position, on IV fluids etc, it’s scary being in hospital, so I just tell myself I have to eat/drink no matter how I feel otherwise, I’ll end up back in .
hope you start to feel better very soon
Thank you :) I'll upload a picture when I figure out how to.
sorry just realised u are new, so welcome !
we must have had another "Angel" before
Hi thanks for replying.
I was in hospital over night and by the morning I was given penicillin and sent home, I think because of how busy it was with covid.
It's very possible that I do have an eating disorder, I guess this is something I should talk to my doctor about yes? I don't mind contacting my doctor she's a nice woman but every time I do I end up back at the hospital and my anxiety can't stand it. But yeah definitely struggling with swallowing it's a nightmare.
Nice to meet you by the way.
u may have a eating disorder or habitual dysphagia (swallowing difficulties). This is a very complex and specialised area, there is no way I can advise as it is so dangerous

this one suggests a therapy and what foods to eat to gain water so u can reduce your direct water drinking
