Not sure what can post here. Read something upsetting about something happens to us autistics. Want discuss but not sure if can put up. I'm late diagnosed, recent upset has spiralled me. Yet get any support. Family horrible. GP horrible. Scared.

Hey, this is a message board, so people don't get back to straight away, it can take a few days to get responses (and it tends to be quieter at night too)
I think knowledge is really important in respect of this static, it's definitely not inevitable, but with more knowledge and more connection built I believe it can make a difference.
If you need more instant chat, I'd suggest:
Samaritans call 116 123 any time of day or night
Shout text SHOUT to 85258
And here where a few more posted.
I'm getting my kids to bed currently, and but it's a topic worthy of discussion! Both from what the statistics mean and how to improve that static from within the community with better wellbeing from people who understand.
Deep hurt will take a while to heal, especially if you're still suffering. You just need to take one step at a time and keep in mind that things can change, even if it feels impossible.
Have you read 'Hand n the sparkle Jar'? It's by Chris Packham, and he talks about some severe difficulties including suicidal Ideational. It's good to look at people who have been that low, and see how they manage. It helps to know your not alone in your feelings, but can lean on others to find small things, even if they are microscopic at first.
The first call is a big step, but no one expects you to be fine just after that. It's okay to need to call again, and again. It's tiny steps, keep moving forward.
After I got diagnosed, my husband had been listening to a podcast I recommended, and heard that statistic too and got worried about it. I was able to assure him I was okay, but it can be hard to hear that stat, but it's meant to try encourage professionals to treat autistic people better than a lot currently do. Just use statistics to your advantage in getting help. If you struggle with volume, try maybe write things down instead?
Take care Flowers
