That does make life difficult. Maybe there are techniques to help with the hyper-vigilance? Little things to make yourself feel more cocooned?

Big issues can feel too big to deal with, I think it helps to break them into little things, and then look at them one at a time to see if there is anything that does feel do-able. I don't know much about big issues.
