hi all what routines do you have and cant do without
I think every secondary pupil should be gifted this book by the Government. Enjoy!
Yeah I have just added " Right thing right now" to my Spotify library. It sounds like my sort of thing.

Yes, I Iike Marcus Aurelius. I find daily stoic an easy exercise and its made a huge difference to my ruminations on negatives. I bought the luxury version and use it like a bible, every day. I also have Ryan's 'Right Thing, Right Now' which is a modern morality code for anyone who has no belief in a god/God.
I'm not really one for routines, or at least not rigid routines. For example, after I have woken up, the first thing I want to do is have at least two cups of coffee. If I find that I have run out of coffee and/or milk (for my coffee), it is not a good start to my day. What happens after that can vary greatly in terms of the order it is done, or if it is done at all.
I know there are some people who find it difficult to function without a rigid routine; things being done in a particular order, and at a specific time of day. I never know how I am going to be feeling physically and emotionally from one day to the next, which is partly why I prefer to be more flexible. In addition, I can sometimes get bored of rigid routines and fancy a change.
Well, a bit of finch on my mobile, wordle and other NYT puzzles, some basic exercises, coffee, definitely coding (almost my raison-d´être), DuoLingo at some point (maybe because I am too stubborn to give up on an 1800-day streak).
I usually find I can skip or reschedule some of these things but the puzzles and the coffee seem to have to appear early in the day.
I am trying to do medidation/mindfulness to calm my moaning mind but it has not honestly become a fixture yet.
I have actually just started a routine last week. I have my Nintendo alarmo wake me up at 10:30 with the 4 masters from ring fit, if not them then it’s Yoshi. Have my cereal whilst either watching SpongeBob or playing my games, teeth and hygiene stuff like cleansing, lunch then 2:30 I do ring fit for a couple of hours then more gaming. Tea then either bath or shower with cleansing, nightly skincare, use scented diffusers if I have any lavender, take sleep aid before 11pm and chill with either games or SpongeBob (or whatever I’m watching), sleep aids kick in, brush teeth again then bed.
Tomorrow will be different because I actually have a hygienist appointment at 2pm so I’ll probably skip ring fit and have a shower and use my airwrap.
It's funny because I don't like change and I like to know what to expect. But I'm struggling to think of a routine that I have and can't do without. I usually start my.day with wordle (mostly procrastination from getting out of bed) but I do forget sometimes so I can do without. I don't like missing breakfast but I think that's more a hunger issue than a routine issue. I don't like change at work but I think that's a lot to do with I don't know what to expect from the change rather than a routine issue. Perhaps I'm not as routine as I thought I was. I am ADHD as well so there are different parts of my brain that want different things.
The link daily Stoic, I get regular emails from Ryan Holiday, I find them very helpful.
Have you read Meditation's?
Your routine sounds very safe and calming to me.

Every day = wake, take pill, make tea, return to bed and do Daily Stoic exercise + record output from indoor weather station. Get up, shower, dress (stay in jim-jams if it's cold), take pills with breakfast. Do chores + make lunch/evening meals written on my daily 'to do' list then either garden or write books or read. At night, write 'to do' list for next day. Thursdays - write recipes for following week and make shopping list. Saturday - change bedding, do washing. Sundays - day of rest, reading. Mondays [pension day] do food and online shopping. Sounds boring which is ideal!
For me it is coding (or reading code) all day, anything else is an interruption and I try to minimise it; I am off work right now, but when working that's quite handy for them. I do need to jog and meditate in the morning, which quietens my mind.
Mornings, bathroom, coffee read the newspaper, drink more coffee, come on here for a bit, have breakfast and more coffee. I'm hell to be around if those things are interupted
