army requires access to medical files, therefore its disclosed either way unfortunately.
As you write that Autism doesn't affect you, then you would not require any reasonable adjustments, so there should be no reason why you should ever need to disclose it to your employer(s).
Even if it were a problem, you could have a doctor write a report on what adjustments you need and that report does not have to disclose the underlying reason. In that case, the employer might refer you to their own doctor to confirm the need for adjustments and that doctor cannot reveal the underlying reason either without your permission.
Expecto_Patronum is absolutely right. It’s entirely up to you whether or not to disclose your autism diagnosis - and that applies at any stage of the process of applying for, getting, and working in a job.
