Hello Nick, I'm sorry to hear you find yourself in this situation.
I have rubbish piling up in cupboards because I'm scared to take it outside.
As a purely practical suggestion, could you take it out at nightime when everyone else is asleep? This can help you live in a claner environment at least.
I have a fear of authority figures and communication from normal police causes me to have panic attacks.
Do you have any family members of friends who can act as an intermediary here? Could they report it on your behalf and possibly be there when the police want to talk to you?
I am bringing a court claim against police
Have you had any legal advice from a solicitor yet? I think this will be a very hard case to prove unfortunately as the police have tried to engage with you already even though they do not seem to have used the specially trained officers.
If you can get an intermediary to call and talk this over with them then you should at least get to know if they have any trained officers available and, if so, schedule one to help you.
I think this is more likely to work to solve the issues here rather than suing them.
All this is just my thoughts and what I would consider doing in your situation, It isn't legal advice as we cannot offer this here.
Good luck.
Dear NickNeish,
Thank you for posting and telling the community what you are going through. We are sorry to hear what you are currently experiencing. It is good that you’ve let us know what is happening. Many people have similar feelings when coping with so much and we hope you’re okay.
If you are unable to cope with the distress or panic, it’s very important to tell someone about your feelings. Call your GP and make an urgent appointment. Your GP can make sure you get appropriate help and support.
The National Autistic Society does not currently operate a crisis or emergency service. We advise you to contact 999 or any of the mental health crisis lines listed on our Urgent Help Page if you are at risk of immediate harm: https://www.autism.org.uk/what-we-do/help-and-support/urgent-help
If you are not at immediate risk of harm, we would encourage you to speak to your GP or another health professional about this if you haven’t done so already. If it’s outside your GP hours call 111 to reach the NHS 111 service. In England, Wales and Scotland there is now an option to speak with mental health professionals by selecting ‘option 2’ when calling NHS 111: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/urgent-and-emergency-care-services/when-to-use-111/
