Is this an autism thing or not?

So when I see someone explained a guitar strumming pattern I don’t get it

but I can figure it out just by playing and within seconds it sounds right

is having a super good ear for music that quick a trait of autism?

or is it that something has been explained to me and my sensory processing disorder make it so it takes so long ro set in?

  • Perhaps you learn quicker by doing the task yourself rather than someone show you. I’d much rather learn through error and train my brain the way I know it works best than have someone else show me how they want me to absorb the information. You just have to do what works best for you.

  • None of it makes any sense to me whether written, shown or explained or a mix of all three. I'd love to be able to play something, but music just isn't my thing.

I still don't know the difference between a beat, a rhythum, a melody or whatever and the timing, how does one work that out? I know some kindly tried to explain it to me in a previous thread but I'm still none the wiser.
