Beat is how fasr the notes keep coming rhythm is the backing tune that you layer Melodie’s over 

None of it makes any sense to me whether written, shown or explained or a mix of all three. I'd love to be able to play something, but music just isn't my thing.

I still don't know the difference between a beat, a rhythum, a melody or whatever and the timing, how does one work that out? I know some kindly tried to explain it to me in a previous thread but I'm still none the wiser.

Next up I need to learn to move around whilst playing like all the best pop stars do 

Perhaps you learn quicker by doing the task yourself rather than someone show you. I’d much rather learn through error and train my brain the way I know it works best than have someone else show me how they want me to absorb the information. You just have to do what works best for you.
