Trumps tricks

He dosen't know if he has to uphold the constitution.

He wants to reopen Alcatratz for illegal migrants.

He wants to put 100% tarrifs on any films made outside America.

How long will peole put up with this nonsense?

  • The other problem with the trade deal is that we have agreed to drop our tariffs on American products while the Americans keep their tariffs on British imports.
Every time Starmer negotiates a deal it's a disaster

  • I share your concerns about the quality of the meat, particularly hormone fed beef and chlorinated chicken.

I think farmers are fairly clear about what they want. The reality that the government fails to grasp is that without farmers there is no food, it's that simple. If farmers go out of business or are forced to sell their farms then shelves will be empty. It baffles me how few people seem to understand that.

Abolishing the inheritance tax on family farms is the first thing they want. This is another issue that gets misunderstood. If a farm is valued at £2 million it doesn;t mean that farmer is a millionaire, the average yearly earnings for a farmer are £24,000. The valuation of the farm is meaningless unless they sell it. Most farmers prefer to pass their farms down to their children rather than sell, thus ensuring continued food supply and production. However, if they do that they will now be hit with a huge bill that will probably put the farm out of business even though they have earned nothing by passing it down.

As far as what else they want, the farming industry is massively overregulated so less regulation would make their lives simpler.

Farming subsidies have been reduced in recent years which means many farms are on the verge of closing.

There are lots of other things but obviously I'm not a farmer so those are the main ones I can think of

  • At least I don't have a problem with the ethics of US meat as I'm veggie, the US says its coming round to a more European way of thinking about food additives, but they still have GM and I wouldn't willingly or knowingly eat GM foods.

I was right about British farmers not being happy, but I wonder what it would take for them to be happy? I wonder when farmers complain that nobody understands them or cares about them, takes thier concerns seriously, what it is they do want, because they never seem to give us any ideas.

  • I agree with you about the chemical additives and GM feeds. The British labelling system on packaged foods doesn’t show full tracking history of US products and US animal welfare is appalling. The chickens are treated with chlorine to make them fit for human consumption, because birds have been kept in ghastly conditions and can be in poor health when killed.  I always check the sources of food I buy, but it is becoming increasingly more difficult and labelling of products with country of origin doesn’t necessarily mean much.

  • , Putin must be very happy with his new friend

    Assuming he is new....

  • I see we've got a trade deal, better than what we had last week, but I still don't trust Trump to stick to it. I think the bigest sticking point will be the chemical additives and GM feeds they give to their animals, I really don't think British people want them. I can't see British farmers being happy either, but then again are they ever happy?

  • Oh well you'll be disapointed then?

  • I'm very disappointed in the new pope,  I was fully expecting the conclave to see the new world reality/order and elect Trump.

  • Every day in Trump/RFK Jr's America is a fresh new horror lol

  • Many films and tv series are actually made in Canada because it's cheaper and the urban & rural scenes look very similar to the USA.  I believe it's these he's targeting.

  • He appeals to the ‘good ole boys’ and the Bible Belt, most Americans are very insular, they only care about what happens in America. The rest of the world doesn’t exist unless it has oil. The cost of gas, mortgage and food is what concerns the average person, the war in The Ukraine is of no concern. He’s very good showman, Putin must be very happy with his new friend. I seem to remember an election promise that Trump would end the war in one day.
Films are often made on location all around the world, how would that be policed?

  • He's being spurred on by actors Mel Gibson and John Voight to make Hollywood great again, but of course when asked how such a policy would work, nobody knows and he seems to walking away from it already.

Despite what the proTrump media circus wants us to think, many Americans want him gone and he's losing support rapidly.

  • I think it's obviously a joke. It's trolling

  • Free speech?

He's allowed hate speech to be classified as free speech so that people can refer to disabled people like ourselves as ***.

    Bringing down crime?

He released all of the insurrectionists back into the community on his first few days in office. Many of which were rearrested for new crimes within a week of release.

    Standing up to terror?

He's sided with terrorists and war criminals in an attempt to gain land in Gaza and turn it into his own personal paradise, and to hell with those who are suffering there.

*** with a string of failed businesses and felonies to his name. He does nothing but lie to get his own way, then throws a baby tantrum and blames everyone else when it doesn't work.

  • It’s the old “Give them what they want.”

If you help enough people get what they want, you will get what you want.”

  • I have mixed feelings about Trump. I don't see him as the saviour that some of the American right seem to. However, I don't see him as the super villain that so many other people do.
I think he has done some very good things during his time in office. Restoring the right to free speech is the most important one. Also ending a lot of wasteful government programmes and a lot of discriminatory practices in government and education. I think he has brought law and order back to America to some degree and cracked down on crime and criminal gangs. He has stood up to global terrorism like Hamas far more than Biden did as well.
However, I have a lot of reservations about him as a person. His lack of class and humility, constantly bragging about his own accomplishments, stands against my values and beliefs. I don't think he should be communicating foreign policy through social media like a teenager. His tariffs have the possibility to wreck the American economy. I worry whether he will try to run for a third term and whether he will damage democracy in America if he continues to behave as he is. Most of all, what he is allowing RFK to say and do about people with autism is very very worrying.
I long for the days of classy, wise leadership like Ronald Reagan. How we could do with that today
  • Oh, Trump! He's talking a lot of nonsense! All he wants is to be the center of attention. I think he became president just for that. He's just a spoiled brat! He thinks of something and then he must be able to do it!! Ugh!

  • I would go further.

The Vatican is big business with millions of visitors every year.  So I would build a copy of it in Las Vegas and pope Trump wouldn't have to leave the USA.  This would make a positive contribution to the US economy.

  • The photo demonstrates he is deranged enough to believe he could be Pope, which luckily for us, automatically excludes him. The election process does not recognise perceived rights of crazed people.

  • Only in his and his followers fevered dreams.
