That is absolute rubbish.There's a big difference between non violent, though at times very heated,debate and what those rioters are doing.Starmer is quite rightly against the latter. As is any civilised and decent person. I find it very disturbing the way some are quite happy to seek to legitimise the awful behaviour of these  rioters. The 'they're doing it because the working classes have been denied a voice for too long' bs. Or the 'they're not racists they have genuine concerns' bs. There are no excuses for such rioting. Anyone seeing Starmer's response to the rioting as showing his desire to turn the UK into a  'strict police state' are only comparatively less morally repugnant than those rioting.

I feel disgusted and sickened by the rioting during recent days. What happened in Southport is truly heart-breaking, and I think it's appalling that the rioting appears to have been triggered by misinformation on social media about the perpetrator.

Whilst no time is ever a good time for rioting, it seems especially disrespectful for it to been happening so soon after the deaths of those young girls. Rather than allowing the families and friends of those girls to mourn in peace, those involved in the rioting appear to have seized the opportunity to behave like mindless hooligans and cause so much unrest.

Sometimes people disagree with you but that doesn’t mean they don’t like you you know.

Well, diametrically opposed terminology (ie your use of the word "left") tends to lead to a conversation about "sides" - ie Left -v- Right.  This was not my instigation.

See , there's that robotic talk again. It is like spock. (call me.... kirk) The extreme male brain theory is right , autism is skewed towards overly, analytical, mechanical rigid style of thought, and studies have shown this theory to be valid. I'm saying, balancing the brain is important, now whether that's a progressive thing, is entirely subjective. And whether it should be sought, is entirely personal.

You might say acid is  LEFT (progressive) side, and  Fear of psychedelics is a RIGHT (regressive) side thing. And this is historically the case.

People fear the unknown, thats understandable. Having values are one thing, but thinking outside the box is another thing also.

It fluctuates through time. it's not a static thing.

I would define it roughly as the people who want to preserve (conserve! a tism) the old ways of things, and the the ones who are pushing for new uncomfortable ways of things (more liberal, more for freedom). That's basically it. But things muddy the waters. But its basically new vs old.
