What actually works for you when it comes to burning off anger?

I haven't found anything that works for me. I find that it's actually getting worse for me, not better.

The closest thing is a distraction but it's only temporary relief. Same with throwing something. Sometimes I just want to shout but again, that's probably just temporary.

Years of my parents making me feel bad for ever merely feeling sad about anything doesn't help.

  • A couple of things work for me. Sitting with my cat and venting to her is one thing I do and it works every time, she just sits and listens and it helps me come back down to earth. 

    Exercise is amazing for releasing anger. Also helps with mood elevation. I go for walks and being surrounded by nature and seeing the beautiful scenery around me always makes me feel better. 

    Swimming was another favourite for me. Being in the water always helped calm me down.

    Turn on my CD player....play some upbeat feel good tunes to boost my mood again and drop those anger levels.
