Re-watched DW S12 GotD: studying the way the story is constructed and how it crescendos. This has got to be one of best stories of the whole series. I marvel at the story telling and the characters who can make such cheap props and costuming come to such convincing life. Terry Nation really is a great writer!
How are you enjoying Fargo?
I'm watching the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series at the moment. I'm in to season 2 so far.
Probably nothing as all thats on is sport and repeats.
Next week theres a new series called The Turkish Detective which is based on Barbara Nadels Ikman novels. I've read them all so it will be interesting to see if I can watch them now they've been rejigged for tv.
For tonight I got a couple of things recorded on my humax box, a George Clarke thingy and Suranne Jones on the Witch trials, the last one was good and this is the final part.
my fav doc too, as you can see! I like GotD for the Dalek back story and the first appearance of Davros. It scared the pants off me when I first saw it on blurry small portable tv rebroadcast on the PBS out of Boston - and I was, at that time, in my 30s.
I am watching a much better copy now, but the Davros mask is still chilling. Next, I want to watch the story about Davros backstory. I remember some continuity breaches - but I can I can forgive those).
I also like that GotD spans 6 episodes so Terry nation really has a chance to strut his writer's stuff.
Amazing episode! I love the part where he asks if he has the right... powerful scene. Love Tom Baker, fantastic actor.
Iv just come across "As we see it" the acting is brilliant the characters are all nerodivergant and in places it seems like there not acting but are portraying there real emotions, cant belive it was cancelled after 1 season. Sorry my punctuation and spelling is really bad,i know before anyone points it out.
Maybe it was just the way she was portrayed in the drama. It's certainly hard to imagine any autistic person lying consistently and knowingly doing so much harm.
I know there are bound to be plenty of awful people who are autistic, but still, ew. I listened to the Dropout podcast series they put out a few years ago and it was shocking and scary how someone could become a billionaire based entirely on lies. I'm not overflowing with sympathy for investors who were duped, but hearing about people being incorrectly told their cancer had returned because of useless tests from Theranos was heartbreaking.
Catching up on Babylon Berlin to see if I want to hear to speak German. I also love this show: it's my fav period in European history. Wiemar republic.
I'm watching The Dropout, the drama series based upon the true story of Elizabeth Holmes and her company Theranos.
Really enjoying it. I've been wondering if Elizabeth may be undiagnosed autistic, the way she doesn't understand the social rules and regularly practises her 'masking' in front of a mirror.
