I am am watching the latest season of "Fargo".
Before that I was watching "Reservation Dogs"
I think Carpenter wanted the film to be more supernatural than ‘slasher’ film. A third of the film was re-filmed as Carpenter didn’t think it was scary enough. The DJ in the lighthouse was his real wife.
Jamie Lee Curtis was the young hitchhiker in the film, the blonde woman in the film who played Kathy is the mother of Jamie, Janet Leigh who famously was in the shower scene in “Psycho”.
Great series! Ronnie Barker was a fabulous actor and he and David Jason worked together so well. They were good friends.
This week we started watching season 3 of "Open all hours" starring Ronnie Barker & David Jason.
Nice gentle bit of comedy.
I love The Fog a lot - from the opening campfire story to the creepy shots of the town at night... gives off this spookiness vibe that pervades the whole movie. Some of Carpenter's early horror was really effective at establishing a scary atmosphere while having surprisingly low body counts and little gore. Great soundtrack, too!
Last night I watched the original 1980 version of “The Fog”.
just starting "3 body problem." finishing up with "resident alien"
Yes I have lol.
If you want guaranteed laughs that's the go to one...
I like old ones too. The problem is I have currently watched all the ones available.
We're watching Bad Batch on disney+ at the moment. Never really been a big Star Wars fanatic but I'm really enjoying this at the moment. Not sure what that says about me since it's probably aimed at children but nevermind!
slight Spoiler alert
Have you gotten to the "Too Many d•••s on the Dance floor" song yet?
You will be rolling on the floor or your money back!
Lol it's so funny. How when he plays 'live' he has Brett's part playing on a tape recorder lol. I have the uncensored version and you're right it definitely is more hilarious.
I love old series such as “mind your language”, “keeping up appearances” and Mr Bean
Oh what a treat that show is! If you can, please make sure to get the uncensored version. It is 10 times more hilarious even. Germaine? present, ...
they are very good. When did it scare you?
We are talking about the really old one from the 1950s, yes?
I'm watching the first season of Flight of the Conchords.
I love Topper. The characters are so fascinating and the actors play them all perfectly, really makes me feel like I'm there, which is scary at times. Rafe is played so perfectly, spookily-so!
I need to watch the others though, haven't seen them before.
Oh! I just started that one! fun so far.
I love these drama-comedies about ghosts interacting with humans
This genre has a long history.
The first such show I saw was called "Topper". and it made a deep impression, being sensitive to ghosts myself.
The show that "Not Dead Yet" most reminds me of, though, is "Dead, like me".
There's also "Pushing Daisies".
and my all time ever ever fav show - "Six Feet Under".
I've got The Chase on at the moment.
