Hi neurokin!
Thanks so much for our discussion earlier about creating another online autistic community which is entirely autistic led! I have started to create an initial forum using Proboards (which was kindly suggested to me) with different topics.
Here is the link if you are interested:
https://autopia.freeforums.net/board/1/general-discussion
Any feedback?
What do you think about the topics I have created?
Thank you!
Obviously I will continue to develop and work on it but I am just looking for initial thoughts.
Thanks I didn't mean to worry anyone, but it's nice you noticed. I got a new special interest - cat training! Well, I got a new cat with way too much energy and had to try something, but it proved a fascinating topic with wider relevance than I expected. Not only is animal training/operant conditioning linked to autism via the dreaded ABA (though the animal trainers seem way ahead with ethics and consent!) but also to AI and machine learning.
Yes I know sorry about that I am not sure how to fix it currently. Thanks for letting me know.
you have a technical issue. the letters 're' are being removed by some sort of filter. I've posted a thread demonstrating this.
Thankyou!

Great solution!

I've figured out how to view the forum in recent posts mode, so you might want to add this link to the OP for anyone else who prefer this method.

Welcome back I had noticed that you hadn't been around for a while and hoped you were ok.
Thanks for your feedback! Yes I agree that the font is very small, I will find out how to change it and increase the size.

Yes I know sorry you are dissapointed, it might take some time to get used to it. There should be some improved features but I understand that some members including yourself are not looking forward to these changes as lots of useful information could be lost. Hopefully you may enjoy the Autopia forum when it becomes more user friendly.

That's great!
By the way at the top of the NAS website, there is an accessibilty button if you click on that you should be able to change the font size for this website.
It looks interesting, but the font is very small. As is the font for this reply! Had I forgotten that "feature" of this board as I have not been here for a while? I come back and find that it is all going to change so a new board might be just as easy to learn as a new version of this one... Ho hum, don't we all *love* change?! (That was sarcasm!)
Although it would be nice to lose the very annoying things about this board it looks like they are going to implement bad changes (deleting old threads) and I have very little confidence that any change is actually an improvement as experience has shown it is far more often a disimprovement...
It's nice to see there are still people here I remember though!
Just to let you know I have put some guidelines at the top of the Autopia forum:

I don't doubt that but I am not sure how to ensure people give safe and trustworthy medical advice, so it seems safer to avoid that all together. Sharing lived experiences about medical care is ok though.
I hope this makes sense.
Some of us are born to experiment and try things.
Occasionally we luck out and discover something useful without the help of a qualified professional.
Then NHS plainly do NOT have all the answers, so there is room for people to contribute if it's managed right. there needs to be a voting system, so that if someone publishes something novel that works people can add verification and similarly if someone posts guff, then it needs to be shot down as quickly as possible.
There are techniques and attitudes that mitigate the worst of Autism, and who better to investigate them than US??
Hi. I have seen your message on the Autopia community, thanks for joining! I will see if there is a Proboards app you can use instead.
Here is the link to the app:
https://www.proboards.com/mobile-forum-app
I hope this helps!
You are so welcome. I am so glad you like it! I have included a discussion about co-occurring experiences which is likely to include health conditions so maybe.
Another thought if I allow discussions about medical advice, I am not sure how I could moderate this as members of the public may not be able to give reliable medical advice.
However, sharing lived experiences related to accessing healthcare, taking medication and health conditions should be ok.
I hope this message makes sense to you!
Hi I created an account and would like to change my avatar but it says can't be changed on the mobile version of your forum.
Are you able to allow me to change it or could you change it for me?
I hate being a pain but I don't own a computer. My phone is my only way of accessing the Internet.
Your community looks really good so far - good range of topics, nice layout and I love the name you chose for it
Will you be allowing medical advice/questions/talk? It's something I see mentioned here regularly but not allowed because of the rules.
I have added another discussion board to the Autopia forum specifically for AUDHDers!
Done!
Thanks!
In admin, go to 'Structure' and 'Categories & Boards'. You should be able to just click and drag things and re-order them however you wish.
Thank you! Great idea! You are welcome.
