3hrs 'babysitting' an 11yo (aka feeding and playing oculus with him)
1hr with his mum and adult sibling.
I feel like my brain is dripping out my ears, my skin is crawling, sound hurts and the heating smells.
I'm going to lie in the dark for a bit.
What do you folks do?
I go and lie down too, where I'll be joined (or accompanied by) a nice small warm furry creature and about an hour and a half later if I am lucky (three if I'm particularly burned out) I will arise, and heeding the wise, wise, words of Maj General Charles E Yeager (as articulated often in the 1990's computer games that bear his name) "get back up there, and try it again"...
Lying in the dark is good. I also need to actively try to get my inner monologue going again after spending too much time around people, to combat that feeling of not really existing that too much company brings on Talking to myself is a good way to do that.
I'm not sure that watching football is relaxing....it certainly wasn't today, quite the opposite in the case of the team that I support unfortunately!
Watching Football and listening to music are the ways i relax.
That does happen quite a bit with sewing, to be fair- occupational hazard!

Ha ha - Maybe I should take up sewing, but I'd probably end up stabbing myself due to imposter syndrome!
I listen to the Lord of the Rings soundtrack albums and sew- there's nothing like stabbing a piece of fabric over and over again to make you feel better after too much people-ing.
Probably same as many people on here - I take myself away for a while. You'll find me up in the office (spare room) browsing the internet or losing myself in music.
I'm one of those people who find it difficult to do nothing (eg, lie down in a quiet dark room) - I'm always needing to be doing something. Apparently even whilst sleeping I am still quite active (periodic limb movement disorder, shouting, etc).
Avoid people for a while and rest
I didn't know they had remixed supergrass. I have one of their albums from around that time. Sun Hits The Sky....takes me back! Good intro
I remember their hit; from 1997.
Also, they remixed 'Sun hits the Sky' by Spuergrass; I have it from an LP reissue of 'In it for the Money.
A dark room is good but it doesnt stop the brain. Ive found listening to a music track which sufficiently drowns out/overlays the "firing synapse" feeling is helpful. I discovered Bentley Rhythm Ace are good for this. The right level of repetitiveness, beat and intense noiseness. I found sometimes, rather than trying to sooth myself, to meet my brain's match head on by listening to music like this. Conversely I find classical music can help as it doesn't have words, I find it more soothing if I need it.
Retreat is probably the best option.
Listen to your favourite music.
Ignore the angry face. I can't make him go away lol
Ooh that sounds good. I wonder where my wheat bag is
I have a microwaveable wheat bag that I like to heat and put on my face in a dark room when this sort of thing happens.

Honestly this ^ with Animal Crossing on the Nintendo Switch, or with my mp3 player and put my chillout playlist in my ears is not uncommon either.
