Hi Everyone,
I am new here and I love all animals but especially dogs.
I thought it would be fun to share what pets we have and their names.
I have 3 dogs, a fox red Labrador called Amber, a chocolate Labrador called Lumi and a pug called Harvey

Brilliant.......I'll be checking out thems Archerfishy thingys.....I do love to learn.
On the other point of whether Nerite loves you or is aware of how lucky it is to some extent, I don't think the particulars are that important (roll with me on this).......I just like to think that a happy animal generates love in some form or another.
LOL I doubt it can see me through the glass tbh, also as it eats a steady regrowth of algae on the glass so isn't actively fed I don't think it even assosiates the blur of shadow and colour (us humans) near the glass as a causal effect on it's evironment. (No food association anyway.) And something fun to think about but I often wonder if the snail even realises it isn't in the wild, and just think's it's in a shallow pond instead. Fish on the other hand can pick out the human that feeds them from a household, and the Archerfish have been shown to recognise their owner from up to 44 different faces.
Very lovely. You are a very considerate and well informed human too.....I'm sure your Nerite loves you.
Aww so cute. I love the names especially Bob. Bob the Dog, ha love it.
It was a Betta Splendens, lived 3 yrs, about normal for them, keep meaning to refurb the 15 gal tank, but the mighty aquatic mollusk who was roomate to the fish is currently 5 years over it's projected lifespan and still going, so all the time it's happy we'll leave it there until it goes of natural causes, and refurb the tank and get a new fish afterwards.
Reason being because a total refurb of the tank would include medicating the gravel with various compounds one of which copper based would poison the mollusk and completely draining all the water out to wash the gravel which would also disrupt the nitrogen cycle making it less hospitable to the snail even if it was in a separate container during the copper treatment. Sooo in essence I made a choice to bring this snail into my home as a pet and tbh I'm not gonna take it off the census just for the convenience of getting another fish faster
Also it's a damn nice looking snail. Hiding at the moment under it's castle of quartz so can't get a photo, but it's a zebra nerite so not my photo not my snail but same species:

Hi Emmy, nice to have you with us
I'm an animal lover, i have a little dog called Peter who is very placid and gentle. He spends most his time at my parents however because their house is more suitable for his mobility issues (he's 14)
When the time is right i'm planning on adopting a kitten
Hello Emmy.
I'm rather shy about sharing personal facts about myself here in open forum.
I'm feeling especially shy today because I have been pre-occupied with thinking about spam bots and AI mining our human existences to further their understanding of us all.
However, I would like to say this.
I love all animals.
I would rather have a loving pet companion over anything made of glass and electronics and metal and plastic.
Without animals, I think we would all be lost.
Long live the animals.
Number.
