I encourage you to reply, but not more than once a day, with a interesting new fact. Let’s stretch this out instead of dumping all the interesting facts out all at once. (Btw feel free to comment on the interesting facts as much and as often as you want)
edit: posting a source for your fact is strongly encouraged.
He's an Irish rebel of the first half of the 20th century. He founded an Irish political party called Fianna Fail.
Who is this Dev?
Isn't the Adam and Eve one of the oldest pubs in the country or something or did i just make that up?
I applied for a job there once
I mean Lincoln Prison. He managed to escape and flee to Manchester. He waited for his lift to Manchester in the Adam and Eve pub which is still going strong.
Good ol' new union.
I've been to Kilmainham jail - is that where you mean? A wee fact related to that: they filmed parts of The Italian Job there, using the cells. I've never seen that film, and wouldn't be rushing to, but a fact is a fact.
Dev was imprisoned in my local prison for a time.
Why did I say 'Off the Buses' though? Maybe that's what this will be called

Gurrl, we know - something to do with “tuck” - I’ve been around drag queens in gay clubs for years before Mama Ru, so I’ve heard all the stories and seen plenty of “shade” being thrown”
After the Treaty with the British Prime Minister Lloyd George of 1921 after attacks by the Black and Tans from WW1, signed by Michael Collins, a very bitter and divisive Irish Civil War broke out, in which men who had fought alongside each other in the Easter Rising of 1916 were bitter enemies in 1921, which saw whole families in Ireland at loggerheads with each other for decades afterwards, which also saw the Assaination of Michael Collins as Commander in Chief of the Irish Free State forces, representing Eamon De Valera as Taoiseach of the Irish Free State Provisional Government
That's damn cool !
Ecballium elaterium is a cucumber that explodes. It does this to spread seeds long distances
I grew one of these plants when i lived in Lincoln. When i was sat in the garden having a drink i would hear a pop and then hear the seeds raining down. Nature is cool

PS if you ever get the chance try looking up "the 15 causes of colour" it's an excellent book.
In addition to the brown and red colouring of the skin and hair produced by the main 2 types of melanin there is a 3rd type of melanin called neuromelanin present in the brain which create a blue colouring in certain parts of the brain. The melanin itself is a sort of brown colour in bulk but because it collects in tiny granules that produce rayleigh / tyndall scattering the brain appears blue. This is the same process that irises used to make themselves blue. Interesting fact people can regain the blue colour most people have in the eyes as babies by having the brown / green pigment blasted off with a laser revealing the blue light scattering layer beneath.
My Grandad was a fan. He left me a book of quotations when he died and he had circled Blakes quotes for me.
Interesting fan for the Harry Potter fans out there
Lord Voldemort, Tom Riddle, was born on 31st December 1926.
