Discussing my mental health and autism at work

Hi All 

I'm currently on long term sick leave from work 

Tomorrow I've been called in for a meeting 

I'm going to discuss my mental health disabilities and autism 

Has anyone else done this and what if any support did your employer offer

  • Hard one. Depends how enlightened your employer is. My boss was great. When MH services let me down, he got it. But then he's spent a career teaching kids on the spectrum.

    Have you a good OH department and union to support you? They could be your best allies if your line management doesn't get it.

    My boss adapted to the way I work, let me work from home and let me know I was valued.
