Hate half-term, a grumpy rant!

Unless you don't drive and have to rely on public transport. On Tuesday, I came back from London, having spent the last few days there. I was sat in the quiet coach of the train. And the buses were packed too. Whereas normally, it's possible to get a seat.

I don't drive either (I have a license but no need, desire, or money for a car) but it was nice having fewer of them on the road to contend with cycling to work, especially past schools.  I know what you mean about the train though; I hate it when they let people abuse the quiet zone.  When I was visiting my family before Christmas somebody was playing their [im]personal stereo far too loudly and the conductor just checked their ticket and walked into the next coach without saying anything!

A lot of people would see your comments as non-PC,, but when you have autism and have lived these experiences as well, you understand whole heartly what you mean.

There is always reason of experience behind every statement, thank for sharing them.  This opens up my own angst,, but in a way it is cleansing me out

Hi - yeah, my son can't stand the screeching either.  As an NT it irritates me, but it's worse for him.

At least commuting is a lot easier during half term :).

I'm not overly keen on kids either, but I was a (probably very annoying) kid myself so I try to just ignore it when they're just being kids.

It does feel like a bit of a drag at times like this when so many people are off work though.  It means there are fewer distractions, but work is basically all of my social interaction so when the office is like a ghost ship I can end up rather lonely.

..... I remind myself that everyone has a right to live their life and its about finding a way for all people to co-exist. By that I don't mean we have to literally live side by side. If at all possible I avoid the places where kids and crowds are - I go where they are not if I can.......... :)
