Hi,
For those that have paid privately for diagnosis where did you go? How did you decide where to go? How much did it cost?
As an adult female who on the outside may seem to be coping with the world I want to make sure where I go for an assessment is very experienced in this area. Im happy to travel (UK) for the right place.
Thanks for your time
Hi I'm new here, 31 year old female also looking at assessment options. I have found Connect to Autism - based in Scotland but doing virtual assessments. It's 400 for an initial assessment then 800 for the full report if you decide to proceed. I feel like it looks like a good option and Google reviews and testimonials ok but it's a lot of money isn't it if you make the wrong choice!
Can you filter by area?
Thanks, I find it so difficult trying to use that search function and just spend hours looking and getting nowhere. I was hoping asking for recommendations would give me less choice! thanks again
Thanks, I have tried to use that function but there seem to be so many. I find it really difficult to use! Hence I thought I’d ask for recommendations in the hope it would make it easier to pick one! Thanks
Thanks
Hi NAS74884 it is important that the professional you see has experience of autism spectrum disorders. You can find details of diagnostic services on our Autism Services Directory in the Assessment and diagnosis section: https://www.autism.org.uk/directory.
Best wishes,

There are places listed on the NAS website. If you do a search or find the right page, it'll signpost you to services where they diagnose females. I found my assessment centre that way.
Psychiatry UK - https://psychiatry-uk.com/ - it cost me £900 per person in February of this year. They have female clinicians, which my daughter made use of. I went for a male consultant psychiatrist. It was quite straightforward and I had an online assessment about 4 weeks after booking one.
I wanted a provider that also did NHS work, so that they would be NHS registered. I looked for clinicians who had specialisms in autism and adult autism in particular.
