yeah 70’s and 80’s and the 90s stop motion was some great years, i love weird and surreal stuff ive seen Quay Brothers animation, same i dont know whats going on but i love the details. i understand i still cant get the timing right with animation. yeah Boxtrolls was good, that would be great making the little sets and props, ive not looked at the newspaper headlines, i will have a looked :) aw nice what comics do you read or graphic novel.
aww im glad you liked it :)
hi, yeah same i like Grayson Perry's Art Club. aww :( just remember art can be any thing and everyone see's art differently, im sure it was great :)
aw nice yeah i like Robert Mapplethorpe photography :), which painting do u like from van gogh.
At the moment I particularly like Grayson Perry. I’ve been watching Art Club on TV and he has a fantastic style and interpretation. He also seems like a genuine, nice guy who is really accepting of a variety of art people put forward.
I’ll never forget doing a piece of work at school I was really proud of, only to be told by the teacher it was rubbish. Art is subjective though, so how can anyone dismiss anything.
I’ve just had a look at some of Lee Hardcastle’s work. Looks great. I’ll have a better look later.
Oooohhh, my favourite characters? That’s a hard one... W&G are fantastic, I pretty much like anything that comes out from Aardman. There were loads of great animations around in the 70’s and 80’s when I was growing up that I was obsessed about. There’s some awesome talent around. I watched ‘Boxtrolls’ a couple of months back (stop-motion) which was great. I couldn’t understand how I’d missed it on it’s release. I have dabbled but I always have problems with my timings. I’d love to be a model maker for sets and props. I love looking at all the small humorous details in animations such as W&G, newspaper headlines, car number plates, cardboard boxes etc. I’m into the Quay Brothers at the moment, quite dark and I can’t profess to understanding it all but brilliantly done. Their style is similar to that of animations that come out form Eastern Europe. So after a lot of waffle on my part, I can’t decide on my favourites. I’m a big comic and graphic novel reader too.
whats your favorite painting from Salvador Dali :)
aww nice :) i don't know them, i've looked them up and they are cool i like martin parr's photography thank you for sharing
i like van gogh, toulouse-lautrec, mapplethorpe, harvey pekar, and sometimes the NYT obits have obits of not well known artists who died. some of them are amazing........alas, i've forgotten all their names.... they're unknowns.
is that one in chicago? i noticed a lot of the chicago works are his early paintings, and this looks kind of later in his career.... interesting guy, there's this film of him painting. i'm sort of fond of dekooning - but after he lost his mind to dementia.... they're so crazy (his paintings, during dementia).
I like the photographs of Martin parr and John hinde

I just remember walking down the walkway (in Wilson's 20:50) to the end, I've never had such a massive urge to climb up and jump 'off' the walkway - wouldn't have dropped far, but gazing into the oil with the window reflections on it made me think it was some infinte chasm...
