Ai Weiwei, Marina Abromovic, Jeff Koons, Anthony Gormley... I'm definitely a fan of installation art. Also any work/show by Alexander McQueen - I know he's not technically an artist, but his work is practically art to me!
Installation art is amazing, there was a fantastic piece by Richard Wilson called 20:50 at the Saatchi gallery using sump oil. It was an absolutely breathtaking experience...words and photo’s obviously can’t describe it. There was also a fantastic series of installation pieces at the Clink Street Prison in Southwark around 1997. Awesome!
I saw the Richard Wilson piece a few times and completely agree... breathtaking. I loved the simplicity of it in terms of aesthetic. Clink Prison exhibition sounds interesting...Art Angel organised an exhibition in Reading Prison in 2016 which was really good!
I just remember walking down the walkway (in Wilson's 20:50) to the end, I've never had such a massive urge to climb up and jump 'off' the walkway - wouldn't have dropped far, but gazing into the oil with the window reflections on it made me think it was some infinte chasm...
