Agoraphobia

it comes up quite a bit in autistic persons 

Does it usually come down to sensory reasons? I know every case is different but is that a prominent feature in it? 

i have found it linked more to OCD/anxiety .   But i am no expert  there could indeed be a sensory component it would nt  surprise me. When things are mixed with Autism everthing is magnified. You should talk to a professional at some point  because agoraphobia is a dangerous condition

ahhhh see,  yes my mum is but denies it , i also have a nephew diagnosed with autism way before me

I think my mum might have some ways about her that seem to be on the spectrum, but not 100% sure.

I do have Netflix, I’m currently watching Pose which I highly recommend! 

just interested it runs in families sometimes 

yea watch the queens gambit the girl is very beautiful in it and stylish and hair great !

I have one full sister and one half sister. Neither have autism, it’s just me.

it’s good to have people to talk to, especially when you’re not having the best of days. My sister was telling me to watch that queens gambit, might have to give it a watch. 

Oh I enjoyed IT crowd and only recently watched an episode of taskmaster, the one where they had to push a watermelon up the ramp with breadsticks. Was pretty comical.

My uncle got me into the show when I was a teen, and loved it ever since. What sort of tv shows are you into?

Yeah, I’ve managed to walk to the end of the road (doesn’t sound like much but to me it’s huge) and get in the car. I can manage to go home  to my mums every now and then in the car so that’s nice. But they put me on risperidone for the asd stuff, since then it’s gotten a tiny bit better. 

do they keep trying to defeat the agaraphobia ?

with walks and medicine ?

They’re not autistic, it’s mainly mental health. There’s a garden, it isn’t too big but in the summer it’s nice as it isn’t in the sun too much. No pets around unfortunately!

Well I was in a bigger place for 2 years prior to living here, which was hell. It was a 16 bedroom place with people with complex needs with mental health, wasn’t asd friendly at all with the lighting and noises and just everything. But now live in a house where there’s 4 of us and it’s so much nicer.

i was diagnosed last year  sometime 

My mum embraces her differences and jusr says this is who she is, which I admire.
