Hey NA, yeah you'll need to go through a psychiatrist. Make an appointment with your GP and ask for a referral up to your local psych, I can't for the life of me seeing them refusing to do so. Apologies for prying, but are the meltdowns manic in nature, or depressive? If either, then by no means can or should the health team be trying to block the help you are entitled towards. 

On prozac myself, more on the depressive side myself and god bless satan for it, it just calms me to the point of being me without the worry of being pushed towards ye auld breakdown that follows every so often. Hope this helps and you pair get the help you deserve.

Congratulations on getting your diagnosis.I never heard of Abilify so Googled it to get some background.

How did you hear about it?

I am on Citalopram for anxiety/depression but that was prescribed pre ASD diagnosis so I’ve been gearing up to getting a medication review with my GP.

Am not very good at organising appointments though
