I have a cafe next door to where I work, I go there for a tea now and then as I am familiar with the owner, known him for 20 years+
On occasion I have chatted to a young waitress in there, mainly about how her turbulent relationships are.
On this occasion I happened to mention that I have only had 2 relationships, one for 2 years, then that girlfriend moved away to the USA.
Then another, my current relationship whom I have been with for 29 years
Amazingly she said ' yeah well not everyone is normal like you'
Mind blown!
I love that.
And congratulations on keeping your relationship going for 29 years. What's the secret?
My interpretation would be that she sees her own turbulent relationships as being abnormal and yours representing the stability that she is unable to find
