I like puns a lot. Especially groan-worthy ones.

Some more of mine:
I have noticed that a lot of people don't realise when I am joking, and when I am being serious. Some of that may be due to reduced body language/expression, but I suspect a large part of it is that I just have a strange sense of humour!
Sometimes I just don't find something funny, particularly when it seems a bit pointless. Other times, I can't stop laughing or, worse still, I find something hilarious, but no one else does... I've noticed actually, that when people with ASD crack jokes in their speeches, quite often no one laughs. I find this quite perplexing as it's always obvious to me that they intended it to be a joke but clearly not to people who don't have ASD!
I've got a new one.
I asked a fruit stall owner for a date. She told me that they only come in bags.
I was also toying with:
"I've been struggling so much recently with the number 0.5. It's really been getting me down. But hey, I feel better just for telling you about it. I guess a problem squared is a problem halved!"
I think this makes me a bad person :-)
0.5
So if your problem is half a cake, I'll gladly square it for you
This came to me last night; "If a problem squared is a problem halved, what was the problem?"
I have a very broad sense of humour. I can laugh at pretty much anything.
I also like puns.
William Penn, after whom Pennsylvania is named, had some female relatives who were renowned for the cheap pies they baked.
People were drawn from miles around by the pie-rates of Penn's aunts...
That gets my "best joke of the day" award :-) Brilliant!!
What's the favourite movie of airport security staff?
"The men who stare at totes"
That. It's like that. :-)
I like Laurel and Hardy, Blackadder, Yes Minister and used to like Not the Nine O'clock News. Some of their sketches are still hilarious -my particular favourites are the "Gerald the Gorilla" sketch, the "Stoutism" debate and "The devil-is he all bad?"
I find Cunk funny, but part of the point of the joke is the stereotype of "thick Northerners". Maybe you are less kind than you think!
Screenwipe was funny for the first few series, but I think Brooker was reined in by the BBC after a while. Cunk started on there.
Been told I’m funny...now is that because I’m weird funny or quick witted? I have no idea where it comes from but sometimes I get told it’s a bit close to the bone....oh well...humour is a great ice breaker I have found, but after that? I’m lost..lol
I used to love listening to My Word on the BBC Home Service and later Radio 4. At the end, Frank Muir and Denis Norden had each made up stories from a phrase given to them by the chairman of the programme, It was somewhat long and convoluted and ended in a pun on the topic given. They are occasionally repeated on Radio 4 extra and were some of the finest ever wordplay.
There were also the double entendre jokes, some of which are just plain filth and which the Carry on films and later Julian Clary are champions of. A lot of puns I had to work really hard at to begin to understand them, but at school there were a group of us who used to hone our skills. It was certainly not a natural thing at first, and I used to marvel at people who could just come out with phrases.
I now often come up with phrases and puns quickly, more a case I have them stored in my head and a word may trigger an association. An example of this is at work, our IT technician is called 'Dai'. I had an urgent problem with my computer and was told I would have to wait till later in the week, and immediately I came out with "So it is Dai another day then" without even thinking which caused great laughter all about!
One.for.the.botanists ....
I was reminiscing about a house I once owned with my ex wife, which had a garden with woody nightshade growing over the fence.
Such bittersweet memories ... !
