What is your sense of humour like?

I read.a.list.of puns to my wife to see if any would make her laugh.

No pun in ten did...

(No pun intended for those who were wondering)

Tim Vine is great for that. Literally non-stop. He holds the record for most one-liners in an hour, I think he still does anyway.

For this Post from Me, Look up: "Ronnie Barker" or "The Two Ronnies", to get a lot of proper puns... Puns and Wordplay were the the mainstay of Entertainment, once.... Y'know, back in those old days of Television, in Black and White, and when this was all Fields...(!) Sorry if I missed the point of this Thread! Comedy like that/this is a rare Art, nowadays.

'The toilets at a local police station have been stolen. Police say they have nothing to go on.'

'A strange thing happened during a performance of Elgar's Sea Pictures at a concert hall in Bermuda tonight. The man playing the triangle disappeared.'

'The prime minister held a meeting with the cabinet today. He also spoke to the bookcase and argued with the chest of drawers.'

'Following the dispute with the domestic servants' union at Buckingham Palace today, the Queen, a radiant figure in a white silk gown and crimson robe, swept down the main staircase and through the hall. She then dusted the cloakroom and vacuumed the lounge.'

'In a packed programme tonight we will be talking to an out-of-work contortionist who says he can no longer make ends meet.'

I'm getting better at understanding obscure humour and play on words.

Today I was listening to the radio live comentary on the Sheffield United Vs Sheffield Wednesday match.  

One person said, " the first half was even, the second half is even worse".

A large town in Yorkshire has gone missing.  Police are looking for Leeds ....

I bought a bag of flour the other day.  When I opened it, it was mixed with dried grapes.

I had inadvertently bought self raisin flour ....

(groan)

I am sarcastic....but have realized I don't always recognize sarcasm when other use it...

In terms of TV etc, I don't really like much comedy these days....I liked clever witty things like Blackadder, but just don't like most modern comedy that thinks if you swear it's automatically hilarious.

Can't stand "banter" either.

I have an extremely advanced sense of humour - in fact everyone I meet says I'm funny. 

I am not into puns but people often think my humour is inappropriate. I don't seem to have the same boundaries as other people so it can get me into trouble sometimes...
