With exercise I've sort of started to build up a routine. I'm doing some mild Tai Chi, and I do some time on the heavy bag each day. I don't go to the gym though, I haven't got any near me without flourescent lighting, and I'm a bit of a hermit due to my nerves at the moment. Once I do get into a routine, I'm pretty much extremely driven. I went to extremes in my teens and early twenties with exercise, and training.
I think that the thing with a lot of autistic people, in my opinion anyway, is that we find it hard to start something, but once we do we find it hard to stop.
It's a pretty ironic situation. You might be finding it hard to start now, but there's a danger that when you do get into your stride, you might take it to the extreme the other way.
Try slimming world, lots of ‘free’ foods including rice, pasta, potatoes which you can eat as much as you want of. More about not eating processed foods rather than dieting per se and no calorie counting or restrictions on portion size (as long as the food is ‘free’) so great for those of us that don’t like small portions and love our carbs. I’ve been on it for a couple of months and lost a stone already, even with Christmas in the middle!
