Did anything good happen today? May 2018

I hope this is ok with everyone.

I thought we could share our successes no matter how small.

Any takers?

  • Yes I met an ex colleague who liked my 'Aspie' T-shirt and said I was not alone in leaving school, due to stress, a lot of neuro typical teachers are leaving the profession too.  She made me feel normal and accepted and I have good memories of supporting her in her form a couple of years ago, keeping naughty lads in order.  After that I felt less stressed and anxious, knowing it's not just me.

  • 1) I listened to my little brother's problems, as a teenager, they're not entirely big, but I took him seriously, and he came out of it feeling better.
    2) I ate proper food.
    3) Looking after my new mouse, (I got him a few days ago.) consistently and well.

  • Hi Robert123 glad you are enjoying your day,,,kind of wish I was with you!

currently sat indoors catching up on things here,,,wishing I was elsewhere,,,but that’s another story.

take care and enjoy,,,oh and take some very good pictures as you usually do,, DC and me enjoy them tremendously as do others, maybe update the pictures thread?

  • I am half way through a hike with the ramblers association.  Sitting down having lunch in the middle of a wood.

The weather is fine and sunny.  With plenty of fresh air.

  • I did vacuum and clean on Wednesday - midweek normally I have no time - and will again today. I really need to because of my stupid allergies.

  • Today was really productive. I managed to finally send an e-mail to get my favourite watch repaired. I was dreading sending it, I don't know why because it is still inside warranty. I washed all my summer jackets, beeswaxed my shoes, and mixed down a song. I also laughed at something until I couldn't breath. That hasn't happened in a while.

I also managed not to vacuum the house and dust. That was a big thing. ******* OCD runs my life at times.

  • oh and my good thing today I heard an update from a friend who is a member on here, it gave me so much joy to know he is starting to accept and deal with lifes challenges, with support from those on here he will succeed, he has had to learn how to live alone and learn new things to do that, he was doing amazing when the sudden loss of his mother happened, a massive thing to deal with,,, but despite all that he has carried on and shows things can and will get better. • “Did anything good happen today? 2#”.

that has been done many times on here, often threads get mixed up, new replies are hard to find, mainly due to a rubbish software package, and that “nested” replies often don’t show all of it in context, so a new thread with the same title plus ,

The threads that spring to mind are the”Are there any women here”. Very popular and much needed, started by Ellie, or Elephant in the Room,,a truly amazing person who showed much love and understanding for all. It was so rewarding to see so many women who had stayed silent sharing and discovering so much that a lot of them shared, and men were of coarse invited as was I, guests if you like, a place specifically to chat about specific traits shared by women, often overlooked when using Male orientated criteria to diagnose,

This thread has given me a sense of belonging, a time to share the good things we experience, a chance to just unwind and share our triumphs no matter how small they seem,

A united group focusing on positive thoughts and giving support and kindness.

    long may this continue.

Thank you @song for thinking this up and starting it going.

  • It would be nice to keep it going, it's been a ray of sunshine in here. Maybe start a new one every so often? Like 'This week's / month's Good News'?

  • Let it wind its way organically

  • So organisation is not my strong point.

I am aware that these threads are clunky at best so what do you, all of you think is the best thing to do?

  • Lovely imagery Endymion, thank you made me smile,,,I needed something to cheer me up. GrinDog2French breadPerson with pouting face tone1‍‍( there wasn’t any cardboard tubes Lol.)

  • Today my dog and I had a play-fight with / over the inner cardboard tube from the tinfoil, it was fun! Haven't rolled around on the floor like that or laughed as hard as that in a while - he was grinning too, but then he did win the tube.

I found this on You Tube by chance. A classy philosophical vampire film. I do love a good gothic. If you like that sort of thing too, I recommend the 1989 version on The Woman in Black. It is much better than the Harry Potter version, which I think is overdone and sentimentalised. The writer hated the former, because it sounds as though the directors overruled her on several things. Ruthless old beeb.

I have ended up taking on way too many lessons and it is killing me really. I am too exhausted to take part in may art events. But I have been able to treat myself to a few extra books and films. I got the most recent Barbara Hambly novel of the Ashers series, Pale Guardian. I prefer her to Ann Rice, who does strike me as being full of herself - and artistically too. Indulgent, much.

  • Today the phone/internet company sent a "reminder" letter because of a mistake they made, that keeps cropping up! Despite my troubles on the phone I managed to get it sorted out and got £20 knocked off my next bill. They also said that they would contact their consumer credit department to correct them because I don't want my credit score messed up. I dealt with it well.  If they make the mistake again I'll angle for that money off again. I don't need that *** every few months. I then had a nice long sort through all my music and listened to some stuff I forgot I had.

  • Hi DC ,I have heard about the magazine somewhere on here, Do you contribute to it? Is it worth subscribing to it?

well done by the way,, I hope you were dressed in your special way! I as you probably know dress in Victorian style clothes, also as a gentleman farmer when I feel like it. Very smart but honest hard worker from the Victorian era,

    take care x()x.

  • ...Me again (!). Finally I can put something sort of "good" here, for a Today...

I managed to deliver my latest letter to Asperger United Magazine. (I always try to "Post-Drop" letters in person, to be sure of delivery.)

  • Today my 'New Scientist' magazine arrived, YaY!!!

  • Good day today.

I picked up my son to go to the doctor today, he's almost 27 and lives in a different town. So today I got up and dressed and went out, but the best is still to come. I asked the Dr if she could send him for an AS assessment and she said yes right away. I was amazed.

when I came home i went to sleep for a couple of hours to reset.

  • I played Scrabble with my daughter today, ate lunch AND dinner, and successfully handled a two-hour energy efficiency appointment calmly in my own home  :O  even although the guy was 47-minutes late (!?!?) and I wanted to rip his spleen out through his left nostril by the time he turned up. He apologised fully so it was fine.
