I have just finished reading this interesting article on the Psychology Today website.
A new study has found that people on the autism spectrum 'may be impervious to misleading marketing compared to the rest of us'.
During various discussions over the years I have noticed advertising has more of an impact on neurotypical people than myself, however, as I do not know anyone else on the spectrum I was never sure whether that accounted for the difference.
I subscribe to the Psychology Today autism RSS feed and find there are some very interesting articles posted.
Ah well, it doesn't matter so much if I'm a bit shaky when being a scruffy gardener, my clients pretty much leave me to get on with it.
I reckon we should have a party night when everyone's available. Set a time. Start a thread and post tunes, daft bits of drunken conversation, daft jokes, the usual blah!
A chat room would be good...
I've freaked out by the leaderboard....I'm meant to be working at home!! Eek!
Why would they do that? I see you've made it to the top of the leader board, I'm rather alarmed that I'm on there at all!
I have to say I do, too. I don't really drink sodas, but if I do it's Pepsi Max.
And yes... it contains more caffeine than regular Pepsi
Everyone needs a slice of silly everyday!!
Good.......won't be long before NAS kick me off this site, I reckon.......!!
I like it though. lol
Hi Elephant, I like a good bit of silly here and there!
Brown liquid?
I take Pepsi Max with me when I go gardening, it's sugar free, not sure if there's caffeine either, what am I left with?
coca cola localisation china
Brand: Coca-Cola
Transliterated Name: Ke Kou Ke Le
Meaning: Tasty Fun (apparently.....)
.....how about....diabetic juice?
Coke would just be 'Liquid Sugar and Caffeine'.
Hi Spotty....
i blame Tom...it all went very silly,....very quickly! Lol
Thoroughly splendid Tom, went from the hysterical to the revolting to just plain silly!
They are hilarious!!!,...I can see why you posted the link and not pictures of the individual products......
Do you think the ASD community would feel more engaged if the product names were more literal....and the product purpose presented in a less glamourising or pretentious way....
for example...
Check out some of these...

On serious note, some companies seem unable to promote their products in a positive light...and their efforts to sell the wonders of the product that they are pushing....just reinforce how rubbish their product actually is. Unless you just purchase ironically....maybe that is the hook?
A good vintage that one!....but will use some mouth wash so my breath won't smell of alcohol!
Cheers!
