What actually works for you when it comes to burning off anger?

I haven't found anything that works for me. I find that it's actually getting worse for me, not better.

The closest thing is a distraction but it's only temporary relief. Same with throwing something. Sometimes I just want to shout but again, that's probably just temporary.

Years of my parents making me feel bad for ever merely feeling sad about anything doesn't help.

  • 1. Cannabis. HUGELY useful in reducing my tendancy to get annoyed.

    2. Controlling myself and my situation to avoid obvious stressors.

    3. Unexpectedly just saying NO quietly, and walking away.

    4. Sleep.Curling up with a cat.

    5. Doing something useful/helpful/nice for someone else.

    6. Occasionally someone steps up and helps me with whatever is frustrating me.

Anger management has been a bit of a thing for me in the past....

*edit* (for completeness) 7. Occasionally delivering a heavy enough blow to sort the matter out... Gotta really pick your occasion and time, and not be led by the anger to make that one work.
