Hi, I’m new to the forum and want to know if there are any women here online (I’m a female professional in my early 40s). From reading some posts you are out there but kind of in the minority....I am hoping to seek diagnosis very soon and would appreciate knowing I’m not alone out here..! Thank you
Hi, I'm here! I'm nearly 43 newly diagnosed with ADHD and currently undergoing an Aspergers diagnosis. Since being medicated for ADHD before Christmas the Autism has run riot as it is no longer masked by ADHD symptoms. I have a high IQ but low social skills and I'm forever putting my foot in it and unintentionally upsetting people which is difficult at times. I don't seriously upset people but I'm soo direct and blunt.
I’m 43 and also have a foot in my mouth... how are your hopping skills?
lol hopping skills? I'm looking for some deeper meaning but my literal brain just keeps coming up with hopping as in jumping on one leg LOL

My first one was bad. This one has had it's moments. Nearly 10 years married now and I think we just now accept each others weirdness.
Also on my second marriage...both epically awful!

Have also tried for as long as I could to appear 'normal'. I can do it quite well but only for a limited time. I have got lots of 'acts' that I can pull out of the cupboard for various social situations. These 'acts' are essentially women that I have studied and copy when I need to. Again, can't keep them up for very long and I soon get sussed if I hang about too long :O As I've got older I've cared less and less about fitting in or appearing normal and so I think my Aspergers or whatever is, just now runs riot. I am married, have been married twice actually. My husband I think is probably also autistic because frankly anyone else probably wouldn't put up with me. I am def worse than him. How refreshing to be able to just say all of this stuff and no one will likely bat an eyelid !!
