Jewelry

Apologies for any men coming onto this

Anyone else find they have lots of jewelry and never wear all of it?

I've got lots of necklaces but never wear them - some have meanings so I wouldn't let them go.

Although I tend to wear bracelets I'd say half of themi haven't worn or not worn for ages - again I'd keep the ones that have meanings to them.

The rings I've got I only have one I don't want so I'm not doing bad in that sense!

Brooches I never wear but some have meanings so would keep them

Just wondering if anyone else has lots of jewelry that they don't wear and don't have meanings to them, just sitting in their jewellery box just for the sake of being a women and getting them as gifts along the years

  • I don't have a great deal of jewelry, most of what I have is earings that need the wires changing as they've become a bit coroded over the years. As ever with me, there's lots of jewelry I can't wear, it has to be stainless steel or silver, or my skin get itchy and sore, that includes most gold too. I do wear broaches, I'd like more as I like them to hold scarves together, I don't wear bracelets as I can't stand anything dangling around my wrists and like rings which I also don't wear they get in the way of all the practicle things I do. I like necklaces as long as they're not to long and dangly and get in my food.

Most of my jewelry I've bought myself from small artisan makers, using silver and semi precious stones, I love garnets and would far rather them than rubies, I love amethysts too. I've never had a diamond though, part of me feels I'm not properly grown up as I've never had one, I don't really know why? But then I don't really like most of the modern cuts, I prefer softer cuts and cabuchons.

I think one of the problems with selling jewelry is getting it reliably valued, most places seem to just give scrap value for the metal, maybe thats really all they're worth, but a lot of pieces are seriously undervalued.

I know you aid sorry to the guys for this thread, but I know a few men who are into their jewelry and have quite a lot of it.

  • I'm the opposite in the sense that I like wearing bracelets but don't like wearing necklaces!

My dad said to give the ones I don't want to charity as they'll get more money then I would from selling them (going to do the charity shop but need to think which one!)

Good to know some men are into jewelry so I haven't offended all of them!
