Hi everyone,

My name is Kate. I am 36 years old and I got my diagnosis today. I actually feel so relived. I have struggled all my life and now I know why. 

Does anyone have experience with working from home? I have my own business but because of burnout etc I cannot afford to pay bills recently. Does anyone know where I can get extra support with this please? Being self employed is the best thing for me as I cannot hold onto a regular job and past jobs have made me unwell.

  • Hi Kate, glad your diagnosis has given you some comfort.

    As for support, you can an apply for personal independent payment (PIP), it basically replaced disability allowance a few years ago I think. It’s not means tested, just a lengthy form to explain how the condition affect you and possible a phone call. Hope that helps.
