Diagnosed today

I've been here a few weeks now while doing my autism assessment and waiting for the results, but as of today I can also say that I have received my autism diagnosis, at last, at the age of 35. I was told that I have a fairly typical 'female presentation', which makes a lot of sense to me.

I don't have all the details about it yet or if the assessors have any specific recommendations for me for the future. I get those in the report later this week, for discussion next week in a separate appointment. But for now, I'm just thankful that they saw the things that I've been hiding for years, and that they confirmed what I already knew was probably the case.

What a relief!

  • Well done battybats.

Receiving my diagnosis, or professional assessment to be precise, really was the most positive thing. My report is quite simply me... Ben.. on paper. It brought so much relief as parts of me and my life started falling into place.

I hope things work out just as postive for you.
