lonely and want understanding

Hiya, i am a mum to 5, with a 7 year old girl with a.s.d, shes also in remission of cancer, just wander how much more, me and my family can take. My family are not supportive, and the kids dad blames me for her illnesses, just want to talk to someone that finds life as difficult as me, at the mo. Cant believe how much of an impact all this has had on my other kids, just want reassurance it will get better xxxx

  • Hi, I am 45 yrs of age and I have a daughter aged 24 with Asperger.Because my daughter is so complex no one really knows what is the cause of her special needs is. However they seem to think she displays more Asperger then ADHD like her brother had.

I have been throuhg every sort of turmoil you can think of, from isolation to despair, regret, guilt, loneliness, hardship and most of all not being understood by family and also in the professional field. Because Aspeger was not so common as it is now it took till the age of 13 that they noticed something wasn't right with my child. They blamed it on my parenting skills. I had no help from any one, no support from the Social Services or Doctors apart from the Educational Department for sending my daughter to a boarding school where they felt that she would get a better education. It was then they noticed that she showed signs of Asperger. It has been a long road believe me, sometimes you will feel like pulling your hair out, crying, feeling overwhelmed and exhausted emotionally and physically. It does get better, hang on in there.Smile
